The young man that compiled this montage continues to inform, inspire, and enrage me with his artistic skills and talent... just as he did with his innovative "Al Gore Rhythm" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJwedTgSLBM - an awesome work of love.

2. What was left of my fractured heart ...
pretty much disintegrates with what is currently the product of so-called, modern civilization.

Who amongst us can, or will, turn their backs on what is now a rampant death machine being steered by an immature species with undeserved technology?

That's what it would take and that means being more like a sage who unlearns something everyday while the scholar learns something new each day. You really must contemplate questioning everything and especially why and how you bought into this freak-show of gadgetry that, in the very fine print, merely serves as chains in the economic links of enslavement and ecocide on a massive scale. The Beast of commerce and growth is rising-up having struck a mortal blow to the Earth itself in the Gulf of Mexico.

While it may sound sensationalistic, we are at the heart of the matter and the very nexus of the crises. Will that arouse anything at all from the participants en masse? Willful ignorance or wishful thinking will no longer prop-up the walls of illusion projected by the magic wand of media, nor will it forestall or support the political delusions that echo empty promises and boondoggles that serve to delay our reckoning with where we are and what we have done.

All the conscience-soothing green this or recycle that in the World and all the King's techno-fixes and all the King's boondoggles are not going to suffice for long. We have a very wonderful habitat. It was, despite our inability to function and coexist in a balanced way upon it, a virtual paradise floating in space, with no visible parallel for scores and scores of light years around us.

Living to continue the Status Quo and our modern way of life without drastic changes and challenges here and now, is like signing your name to a death warrant on what is left and the generations that might live to inherit the obliteration of our finely interwoven biosphere. It was the only home we had and still, even as we observe the unmistakable, hideous, stomach-turning results, how do we wake-up tomorrow and continue on the very same path that brought us here? Is there some genetic tendency we share with Lemmings?

Alarmist? Heheh. The alarms were ringing a long time ago. The system spoke loudly and with authority and used all resources available, from politics, to economics, sociology to psychology and from induced fear and brute force; its minions adeptly studied and applied what it learned to manufacture your consent to this grievous and avoidable descent into making the Earth into a place worthy of commentary by Dante. The promises of a leisurely heaven of abundance now reek with deception and the veil of the illusion has been pulled aside.

There are not many excuses or arguments left that can avoid the inevitability we now face. These may be wasted words, but the word crises, from the Greeks, meant the critical point where the patient will either die or recover. On this path without heart, we face massive die-offs of our own and of a myriad of species. It is our way of life. Understand? It must change drastically and quickly. Don't wait for the wealthy to sequester themselves in hopes of surviving this phase to arise as ultimate despots while billions of living things perish. Oh, no, they wouldn't do that. No, YOU wouldn't do that. I think the disconnect there is becoming obvious as the Class War draws to its conclusion. Have you been keeping score?

Now, back to TV, beer, sports, and the myriad of other diversions. Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow ...
