This is what we will be seeing in digital cameras within a decade or so. Analysts have been saying that still photography for most will inevitably perish. Instead of looking for a good moment to take a still shot in a casual or posed setting, they person will simply shoot incredibly high resolution/high stability video, and look for a good frame or two later. This practice has already started with today's HD cameras, but the results are pretty poor due to resolution and compression.
This concept camera from Canon uses current technology to achieve this, which is Amazing. The catch is that lady taking the video on the stage has a small backpack that is wired into the concept camera. But in a decade or so, this will be possible with a only the handheld part.
They do not share the specs of the camera, but to achieve this they must be measured in terabytes.
