'This is an interview on CBC's "THE HOUR" last week with author Chris Hedges. It obviously goes into a lot more detail than the clip from the Colbert Report. Very scary, very prescient, check this out. Hedges examines the growing right-wing fundamentalist movement in America and argues that it resembles the early fascist, cult-like movements of Germany and Italy in the 1920's and 30's.'

2. We, the Democratic Party, need to represent the Christian LEFT.

I don't see how any Right group could defend it's actions when Jesus was, in his time, fighting the hard narrow-minded Fundamental Establishment. He was certainly the leader of the Christian Left, not the Christan Right.

I think most of the country would side with Jesus against the strange twisted zombies who consider themselves the last word. Since we are an inclusion party we can embrace the followers of peace and human dignity. Isn't that is how most of us understand Jesus to be,anyhow?

7. Why is it that Pelosi and others tolerate these people? Rev Hagee, very dangerous.

Nancy Pelosi and a few other Democratic leaders spoke at the aipac conference in March, where Rev hagee was one of the many keynote speakers. His agenda, among other things, is nuclear war with iran. He also opposes any, and i mean any, compromise with Palestinians that gives them sovereignty over any land, even in the West Bank.

Yet Nancy spoke and never questioned their choice of speakers?

I would think & hope Nancy would never speak at the same convention as a David Duke, why is it that she found nothing to criticize here?

Is it because Hagee's ideology of hatred is directed toward Arabs and Muslims?

More on Hagee, who many of people have not even heard of, yet his influence is great among millions of extremists in the usa.

as Hedges himself makes clear in the video. Also, these dominionists are being fooled, and as Christ would say, forgive them for they know not what they do. We need to educate them. Pass the word !
