Stephen Moore calls for raising taxes on the poor in order to pay for tax cuts for the rich.
The Bush tax cuts are scheduled to expire in January. President Obama has expressed a desire to preserve the cuts for the middle class while letting tax rates for the wealthy reset to where they were during the Clinton administration. Conservative lawmakers and pundits have been fearmongering that allowing the tax cuts for the wealthy to expire will kill job creation and small businesses (despite the fact that fewer than 2 percent of small business owners will be affected). Last night on CNBC, Wall Street Journal editorial board member Stephen Moore went so far as to say that he can’t “see the sense” of allowing cuts for the rich to expire, and then advocated that taxes be raised on the poorest Americans in order to finance more tax cuts for the rich:

I just don’t see the sense of this. In fact, if I could have my ‘druthers, I’d raise the ten percent tax rate to fifteen percent and lower the rates.

5. Well Of Course
I mean, you have to raise taxes on the poor to give them a deterrent or to punish them for being poor. Obviously the reason this country has so many poor people is because we haven't made it bad enough. If we make poverty harsher while at the same time providing greater incentive for wealth, more people will want to avoid poverty and become rich. DUH.

11. Don't forget to lower the minimum wage while you're at it.
The benevolent, job-providing class could lower the price of fast food hamburgers if they weren't forced by the evil government to lavish such exorbitant sums on the guy who flips them.

13. No taxes for 250K or less of personal income.
Dismantle the us military till there are no forces outside the actual usa. also monetary reform, no more debt based money as this creates the endless cycle of debt and deficit that only benefits the banksters.

14. They still try to sell that "trickle down" snake oil when it's been tried and a proven failure.
Tax and economic policies have been geared for the wealthy and corporations for 30 years. Now, we have the highest concentration of wealth since the Great Depression. Working class people cannot afford to buy or build houses, purchase cars and other big-ticket items. Working class people were subsidizing their lifestyles by borrowing against the value of their homes, maxing out credit cards and other means of accumulating debt. That just delayed the inevitable train crash we're seeing today.

This crap about corporate taxes is a red herring. It's well known that corporations have set up in the Cayman Islands and elsewhere to where you have multi-billion dollar corporations paying no U.S. taxes.

I hope Moore's "let them eat cake" attitude comes back to bite him hard.
