1. Entertaining but it never explained who was screwing who in the carry trade
...Did Max Keiser ever get out of Iceland wealthier than when he arrived? Or did he return to the geothermal springs and get boiled like an Icelandic lobster? Tune in next time to find out:yoiks:

I actually trade credit and that is a very nice and refreshing way to see how the carry trade is having an affect at the moment.

Credit markets are exploding and psychotically wild right now....wow....the media does not even paint the picture of just how wild...in fact stocks seem to have been quite resilient if you ask me by only being down 10% from their highs.

If people here knew about CDS's and CDX Tranches they would know how crazy it is getting- ala ResCap, GMAC, CFC - 1100 bps for a CFC 5 yr CDS this morning (settled back to 600 which is still crazy), RDN, BZH, SPF all blowing up horribly...very ugly. Forget out about ABS and MBS and CDOs on such things - many of these assets have nobody willing to make a bid - not one bid....banks must mark their assets to the market. How do you mark something that has no bid????????? They will have to mark it down in a vicious way...and banks, being highly levered, will have to come up with the cash to cover their mark to market losses...or else...see TMA for this issue.

The companies that are in the middle of their LBOs have been troubled too. Can the LBO firms get the financing now? Fuck knows. All I know is that I want FDC, AT, TXU, CCU, ASN, and JNC deals to close - and soon for the sake of our merger arb book.

I am babbling, but can go on and on and on...
