After BP announced yesterday that its Tony Hayward would give up day to day oversight of the Glf cleanup operations, the embattled CEO wasted not time getting his life back.

AP: LONDON – BP chief executive Tony Hayward, often criticized for being tone-deaf to U.S. concerns about the worst oil spill in history, took time off Saturday to attend a glitzy yacht race off England's Isle of Wight.
Spokeswoman Sheila Williams said Hayward took a break from overseeing BP efforts to stem the undersea gusher in Gulf of Mexico to watch his boat "Bob" participate in the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race.

2. Actually Hayward is not ON the yacht

He is not a member of the team that is in the race.
His boat is in the race but he is not.
He's just there watching.

I'm not sticking up for him, but he has been in the USA for a long time and taking the weekend to spend with his family back home isn't going to affect the well getting fixed one way or the other.

...heck, any boat taking part in a race would likely be a relatively stripped-down affair (of course, there's no telling what "stripped down" means to Tarball Tony).

Rest assured he was watching from a very posh, comfortable vantage, either ashore or on one of those private luxury liners of the rich and famous.

area while their area is filling up with more oil everyday. Does he not understand that this kind of recreation is exactly the kind they have lost.
