Summary: Cenk debates a Republican strategist after the House canceled a vote on the Campaign Finance bill. Should Dems have accepted the NRA exemption?

4. I like L. O'D.

Besides, Cenk's brutal honesty (especially about the establishment and other media outlets and hosts) wouldn't go over well and I'm sure he'd be asked to drastically tone it down were he to be a host. But being a guest gives him the freedom to be a completely honest host on TYT.

Granted, a premium cable channel show (HBO, Showtime, etc.) would still allow for that freedom, so I think that makes more sense. And of course even if Google TV doesn't specifically take off, it's beyond obvious at this point that the merging of television and the internet is inevitable. It's going to be very interesting to see what the media landscape looks like in 5 years.

12. K&R. Lawrence O'Donnell can be brutally honest, too.
There have been times when he's spoken out to the point that I've wondered if we'd hear about it, but he has not only been KO's permanent sub, but has now been given his own show. I certainly hope that he keeps it up, and that he has Cenk on frequently as a guest. I think they make a good match. :)

17. Don't get me wrong.
O'Donnell is a GREAT guest. As a host, he is wooden, halting, and shows an obvious effort to be "cute" with his puns. He should stick to the guest circuit. I think giving him his own show sets him up for an epic fail.

20. Well, I haven't seen his show yet, so I'm reserving judgment.
But I also really enjoy him as a guest, so I have high hopes. Time will tell. :hi:

6. Me Too
The lying, obfuscating villians need to be thoroughly shouted down at every venue. In this instance the huckster and the villian, save for a very few pointed moments, held the floor. Unacceptable, as the Gulf of Mexico overshadows the Arabian Gulf, so must the progressive rhetoric outshout the enemy.

7. "that's just he way I roll"
sorry, I can't get behind someone who uses that phrase. Isn't TYT plural? Who is a YT besides him? He's an imature baffoon. I used to listen to him on Air America, and never could get past his sexism.

9. LOL!
To me it is refreshing that Cenk is not stiff and boring like so many on tv! And I am not the best speller but before you accuse someone of being a buffoon you should probably consider spell check.

you wouldn't be able to distinguish Cenk from his use of catch-phrases. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

14. The Young Turks (Plural)
Instead of posing a knock in the form of a question, just do a little research:

The Young Turks were a coalition of various groups favoring reformation of the administration of the Ottoman Empire. The movement was against the monarchy of Ottoman Sultan and favored a re-installation of the short-lived Kanûn-ı Esâsî constitution. They established the second constitutional era in 1908 with what would become known as the Young Turk Revolution. The term Young Turks referred to the members of the Ottoman society who were progressive, modernist and opposed to the status quo. The movement built a rich tradition of dissent that shaped the intellectual, political and artistic life of the late Ottoman period generally transcendent to the decline and dissolution periods. Many Young Turks were not only active in the political arena, but were also artists, administrators, or scientists. The term "Young Turks" has subsequently come to signify any groups or individuals inside an organization who are progressive and seek prominence and power.

19. As long as you keep watching....
I, for one, don't care if you equate him with Jeffrey Dahmer. Just keep hittin' "recommend"....

(I totally understand why a person would have trouble with Cenk's take on sex and the roles people play. Perfectly reasonable and rational justification for not liking him. That said, you should watch every day, 3-6 p.m., PDT, and keep a running count of things you find offensive. And, just to be on the safe side, become a member so you can watch the Post-Game Show - you wouldn't believe what he saves for THAT part! You'll be glad you did.)

23. I'm sure it was easy
and I didn't take the time to do it. So what? Didn't occur to me to Wiki TYT, it wasn't that important to me, and was only a passing thought about the plural TYTs. I simply started out by expressing an opinion about him that some didn't like. Not sure why a contrary viewpoint warranted the animosity. But oh well.

18. Yeah....no....
You're going too far back for a historical reference. Cenk only goes back a few decades whaen the meaning of "young turk" was "up and coming replacements of the leaders of today" and really didn't have anything to do with Turkish history or empires named after living room furniture. It was happenstance that "turks" is part of the phrase; Cenk would probably have gone with a different title if he was, say, Brazilian or Tahitian...

...just sayin'...

15. Make a law to have a politician wear a badge from his sponsors. It can be done
similar to the way the girl scouts or boy scouts wear the badges they earn. A politician takes over three thousand from a corporation, and or a block of people from a corporation or industry, and they wear a badge. They can wear sashes to display them.
