1. thom was way way over the top today. At least in my opinion.
It bordered on ridiculous...

20 B not enough..should have been trillions... etc. Forgot to mention, however, that there is no cap on the 20B

That among the other things that he said that were off the wall and unrealistic.

7. Wow, Thom Hartman is a "teabagger" now?
I think some of you are bordering the ridiculous by now... good grief, even Thom Hartman gets thrown under the bus the minute he dares say anything non flattering of Obama.

6. Truth, It Burns the Weenies Ears! Thom's Correct. The Sooner Democrats Learn the Better for Us All.
You can't really argue with this. This is without a doubt a plutocracy. Obama is owned and so are the power players in the Democratic party. It's all a damage control puppet dance. See the Jon Stewart piece showing Barack's two faced bullshit on much of what he was elected for.

10. Well Thoms heart is in the right place...
I think the fact that Obama ignored the 75M cap, and even created a escrow fund is a great step in the right direction. Is 20 billion not enough? I'm not sure but at least its a start.

How realistic is it to seize all of BP's assets and break up the company? I would love that to happen but lets be honest is that even realistic?

19. Good one Thom using Palin's stupid remarks to take a dig at
those who voted for this President. NOT

I hope he watches the WH briefing that took place today before he comes on air tomorrow. A lot of what he was saying about the 20 billion dollar fund was false. He did not even bother to wait until the meeting had completed before he started poo pooing the whole deal. His claim that this fund would limit the claims individuals in the gulf could file is just not true. I just watched the entire press conference and this was clearly disputed.

He went over the top when he made the comment that the BP guys will go into the meeting with the President with their British accents and he (Obama) would bow to them. I just about lost it, when you result to right wing talking points to degrade the character of this President it is no longer about policy it is personal. I bet you anything Mr. Hartman would have never pulled off what the President was able to accomplish today for people in the gulf.

Lastly, I applaud the woman who called in and suggested to Thom that we should be supporting this President by calling congress so that they can get their butts in gear to pass the climate bill. He all but dismissed her and continued to bash the President for not going after the senate in his speech. It’s easy to sit from behind a microphone and spew about how the President has no spine, if you’re so tough why don’t you run for the job and we’ll see how much you’ll get done.

22. Hey listen, I heard his show today.....

My comments are reality based and I proudly stand by them. Unfortunately Thom can't say the same since he did not even bother to wait until the meeting had ended before he chimed in with his opinion. Let me also add that Thom's repeated playing of parts Carter's speech on energy was not too reality based considering the part he played was of Carter saying we would end our oil dependency by the year of 2000. If all it took was a good speech by a President then why are we dealing with this cluster*&#% in the gulf right now? Please don't talk to me about reality.

I am not bashing Carter here, only pointing out the futility of Thom’s argument about how the President should have sounded like Carter last night. In case Thom had not noticed this was not billed as a policy speech.

24. Thom was right. That was one wimpy speech Obama gave.

I started zoning out at yet another mention of his stupid commission to STUDY the oil spill.

I have a suggestion:

Mr. Obama, if you don't want to be President, let some other Democrat have the job. Seriously. It could be done. It would start with leading Democrats on Capitol Hill taking the walk. They would walk to the White House and explain to the president that if he prefers to be legislator in chief instead of chief executive, he can always trade in his job and go back to being a Senator. They would tell him that if he doesn't try to stop the leak and is only interested in the distant future he has lost the confidence of Democrats on Capitol Hill and should resign. Biden should also resign. Pelosi is next in line of succession and she would become president. If she doesn't want the job she could appoint a vice president who would take over as she would go back to Capitol Hill. I can actually think of ANOTHER Nobel Prize winner who won for environmental activism who is a lot more detail oriented. Why not let him be president. Really. It could be done.

Now, I realize that being president is a pain in the neck, what with all that free food, the chefs, the butlers, chauffeurs, security, Air Force One, Chopper One and so on. There must be days Obama wakes up and says, "I'm sick of all this! I want to go back to Chicago and sing around the campfire again!"

Mr. President, you could do this. You don't HAVE to be president. If you don't WANT to be president, other Democrats are perfectly prepared to take your job. Go ahead. Resign. We can see you're not interested in being the leader. Legislator in chief is a fine profession. Go back to the Senate and seek a leadership role there. You don't HAVE to be president if you don't want to be......

Here's what Obama's speech did for me:

25. So, Thom, Keith, and Rachel think that Obama's speech was weak?
Given what has happened in the last year or so, in terms of our aganda, and what has been accomplished....and this event, and what has been done....
Do you trust Thom Keith and Rachel, who have a view on this speech, or Obama? Think it over.
