Sweet Jesus, I cannot stomach this "woman." Please, Senator Boxer...do whatever you need to do. Win again. Don't give this woman hope for a political future.

You'll love the part where this epic fail piece of SHIT says "In her 28 years as a career politician in Washington, D.C., Barbara Boxer is a bitter partisan who has said much but accomplished little. She may get an "A" for politics, but she gets a "F" for achievement."

1. All Barbara has to do is remind everyone on her HP
antics........tapping board member phone calls, allowing the stocks to tank etc...

2. I hope and pray that she will, because...
...quite often, as Democrats, we like to say that we are "better than that" or that we "won't stoop to that level."

Truth is that of the shoe were on the other foot...if Barbara Boxer was the failed CEO of HP...Fiorina would have already hammered her failure into dust.

Fiorina is living in a glass house. Let's hope that Senator Boxer isn't afraid to toss the bricks required to bring it down.

27. Boxer is not exactly a shrinking violet
She's as pugnacious as her name suggests, and I think CEOrina is going to get a harsh lesson in the care and maintenance of glass houses.

8. I live in L.A. and...
...really like Boxer for the most part (her stance on cannabis legalization is disappointing). However, I'm not holding my breath for her to do something like that. Unfortunately, most Democrats just cannot muster up the courage to simply list the facts; not spinning, embellishing, or outright lying like we expect from the GOP. We need more Graysons in the party.

5. Approximately @ the 4:44 mark.
I don;t blame you. She makes my skin crawl. I worked at HP for a month and a half as a contractor during her "reign." I've never been around a more miserable, manic depressive group of people in my life.

7. Carly doesn't come across as genuine when she talks 'security' and 'world affairs'

But I'm guessing she'll try to leverage whatever she can to act more supportive of the military. I'm a Democrat and it actually p*ssed me off when Boxer said 'call me Senator' during that hearing months ago. That was a huge mistake and will be played out during the campaign, but hopefully over-played, but still not great to start off with that under your belt. My bet is that Carly is going to try to leverage her personality with California voters who are frustrated with everything going on in the economy, etc. and watching her speak, she comes across as a 'crossover' type that many people may fall for just because they want new blood & a new face. I hope Boxer gives it both barrels because if it comes down to a 'who'd you rather have a beer with, I think Carly is ahead right now.

9. Fiorina said: "There is no job that is America's God-given right anymore.
We have to compete for jobs as a nation."

This, as she was sending thousands of HP workers to the unemployment office, and shipping their jobs elsewhere.

Fortunately, Boxer picked up on this during the primaries

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2010/06/fiorina-is-running-on-her-reco.html

If Fiorina wins today though, her tenure at HP is likely to turn into a major campaign issue. Boxer is already attacking Fiorina for the layoffs and outsourcing HP did when Fiorina ran it. This is a familiar attack on a ceo-turned candidate. Romney weathered it in 2002, when he won the gubernatorial race in Massachusetts, but he couldn't in 1996, losing as a first-time candidate for the U.S. Senate.

"I don't know who my opponent is going to be, but if it is Carly Fiorina, this is the clearest choice in the nation, and I am very excited about it because she is so out of step with California voters," Boxer said at event Saturday in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Times. "She has a horrific record, she hardly ever voted, she laid off 30,000 workers, she shipped their jobs to China, to Europe, to India. People suffered, she got all these perks...and so I really look forward to this race.

11. I love this part:
"Carly Fiorina likes to say that she'll run things the way she ran her business. And we believe her," the party says. "As California's next Senator she would undoubtedly run government the way she ran one of our state's biggest companies: right into the ground."

But don't expect Fiorina to stop talking about her complicated business career.

"Voters should view my departure from Hewlett-Packard as evidence politics exists in the boardroom as well," she said, when I asked her at a press conference about how voters should view her exit from the company. "That I know when you're driving tough change, you sometimes get arrows in your back.

I wonder what kind of cheese that she likes with that whine.

12. And I've quoted that 100 times if I've quoted it once on DU...
...so my question, as a Californian, is "What the HELL is wrong with California?"

I know that just like Meg Whitman, Fiorina BOUGHT her place in this election.

But what the HELL is wrong with California?

13. Fiorina has the Capitalist Killer Instinct...
to her, it is about "take it all" at any cost.

One of the biggest situations though is that her HP crap is a mountain she bears on her back as some of the worst garbage ever ever perpetrated upon those who work for a living.

This is where Boxer's surrogates come into play. Once the facts are gathered, (I'm sure they already have been), the surrogates go to work disseminating the information. It is not "negative" as some will scream, there are blatant facts out there in the public domain that show Fiorina as nothing more than an utter failure as a CEO. She was given the job because she foisted herself upon the Board of Directors as a "savior", and she was terminated because she was a corporate chainsaw that nearly single handedly destroyed a company. That alone should terrify even the most grisled corporate Republican.

She is mean, and if Boxer stays above the fray, she should have no problem taking on this monster. Flood the media with facts an the disaster that is Fiorina, and she'll carry a few districts that contain a large number of morons...and sink again from public view.

17. I was there...
...the people I worked with at HP would happily dance on this woman's grave. I can't tell you how happy I was at the end of my month and a half contract assignment, when I walked out the door for the last time.

Other than Larry Ellison, she is probably the single most despised high tech icon in this valley, with the major difference being that people fear / hate Ellison, who gets results, and people just hate Fiorina, who did not.

16. from ThinkProgress
HOST: Well, let me ask you this. If you were still the CEO at Hewlett Packard and the figures said you had to cut 10,000 jobs today, would you do it as a responsible CEO?

FIORINA: Of course. And by the way, having managed HP through the worst technology recession in 25 years and nevertheless doubled the size of that company from $44 billion to $88 billion, I know what every responsible family and every responsible business in California knows. That sometimes in tough times you have to make tough choices. And that’s what families and businesses are doing all over California right now.

hmm, I wonder where her numbers are coming from. Is she saying just because she merged HP with Compaq (against the Packard family wishes) that she deserves credit for growing the company?? if that's the case, or at least part of it, I gotta laugh.

20. Today, HP is worth less than when Fiorina took the helm
http://motherjones.com/mojo/2010/06/fiorina-wins-will-she-remain-far-right-tea-party-corporate-insider

There is plenty to criticize about Fiorina's tenure at HP. At this point, the changes that Fiorina made didn't turn out so well for the thousands of Hewlett-Packard and Compaq employees that were laid off and the millions of HP stockholders who lost equity since she took over. HP stock is worth less today than it was in 1999. Dell and IBM stock has increased in value.

33. See, I'd believe that, if it wasn't for Carly giving herself a gold mine while workers got the shaft
http://www.fiorinafacts.com/

Interesting timeline to say the least. Geez, the personal jet use and stock options in the millions are enough to render that statement by her a corporatist pile of bunk. Let's not even go into the 60 million dollar merger bonus she tried to secure for herself as she cut 3,000 jobs and stated that "moving faster on job cuts" are "good for the employees".

Charming woman. In less accommodating times, she would have gotten the guillotine, not a Senate seat.

22. This goes back to 11-11-06, right after Fiorina left HP...
<snip>

For someone who is running around the country these days portraying herself as a victim, Carly Fiorina is actually one very lucky lady.

Hp_2 Thanks to the boardroom scandal at her old company, Hewlett-Packard, there is a renewed interest in her controversial tenure as CEO/chairwoman of that company...

<snip>

...Carly Fiorina, the very embodiment of the dot-com boom corporate superstar.

One is hard-pressed to think of anything she did during her time at either Lucent or HP that wasn't designed to burnish her own image — at the sacrifice of anyone who got in her way. Indeed, that's exactly what she's doing now with her self-exculpatory book: blaming the victims — that is, everyone but herself — for her failings as a manager.

<snip>

http://tombomb.typepad.com/tombomb/2006/10/by_michael_s_ma.html

She has spent a lot of time burnishing her reputation...but the bottom line is, she was a terrible CEO. If she was "good", other corp's would have beaten the door down to get her, she was left adrift...and rightly so.
