2. Dauphin Island, love it.

I knew it back in the 1950s. The ocean was so clean. The sands so pure. It was just beautiful. I do not remember seeing crowds like that on the beach anywhere. As for public and private beaches, I suppose there was a difference, but there were so few houses that swimmers could pretty much go where they wanted.

Oh, how sad.
