When I did more research...yeesh! Good on Rachel for stepping up to the plate.

You'd think the Dems would want to hear more questions from AAR, NovaM and the likes. Ignored as usual. Go figure.

3. "Gay" as a description is itself a dodge

What's wrong with calling it a homosexual political debate? Rachel is right, confronting politicians with honesty is important, but I think that even extends to the word "Gay" which is a weasel word itself.

4. well, homosexual

is the word that fundies like to use to describe gay people, at least in my dealings with this 'gay life' issue. all the churches I've been in that, surprisingly, I never go back to, all used the word HO-MO-sexual when denouncing gays, and never say gay,it's done I think because calling people heterosexuals or homosexuals dehumanizes them, instead of calling them straight people, or gay people. I understand it's the scientific term for 'gay' people, but gay encompasses everyone that isn't straight I think, so it's easier that way. I like HRC's name, because it implies it's HUMAN rights were fighting for not just gay rights, but I understand likewise how Rachel can find it comical that it doesn't say even on the bottom something 'gay rights advocacy' or anything. They educate on more than just gay rights though, but gay rights is the main focus.
