3. Astonishing, isn't it?
Fresno, just like many other towns across the country, back in the 60's was known as one of the (what we called back then) 'redneck' areas where acceptance of peace movement individuals not likely. Astonishing ignorance which has not changed in 40 years in the various pockets of backwards-thinkers who want a police state. I note how these 'news' commentators exaggerated Ayers past as well. But, at the time, he was on the most wanted posters at post offices along with others in the WU. I (and everyone I knew) was followed and surveilled for a while back then, just knowing some SDS students and going to a few meetings back. The irony of who the actual enemy of the people is compared to who is on their most wanted list. Now that's something the Prez can do something about, yud think.
I still wonder why the agencies can't find out about RNC activity regarding judges put in during Bush cuz I smell a racket.

4. why didn't they interview the organizers who put on the event?
why didn't they interview those who like Ayers and come to see him speak?

The events were in Fresno yet the Teabaggers interviewed were from surrounding farm communities which has much more racists.. Easier to be racists when you can look down on farm workers who are mostly of a different ethnicity.

By the way.. the event was not put on by Peace Fresno.

When I was still living in Fresno in 2001, I would go out on Fridays and Protest with Peace Fresno. The cops would sometimes stand right next to us to say they had to "protest us". or to arrest us for stepping into traffic, or for crossing the street to many times. It was usually because the Freepers were on the other side and called the cops to ask us to be removed.

I remember on time Peace Fresno and others when to protest the Freepers at a rally they were having with conservative Jews.. PF was about 30 feet away from the event and still the Cops ask them to leave.

WHo was it that the Teabaggers where on church property, and allowed to argue with the Brown Berets and also allowed into the event?

Why didn't the organizers ask that the Teabaggers get off church property ?

5. check out video Brown Berets confronting (and antagonizing) racists Teabaggers

Unlike the sloppy news reporting by Fresno corp Media.
Peace Fresno and Center for Non-Violence did not sponsor the events with Bill Ayers.

Here is who did.

The event was co-sponsored by the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, CAFE Infoshop and ciafront.com.

http://www.ciafront.com/

On April 22 Professor William Ayers came to Fresno for a film screening of the award winning documentary "Weather Underground". Due to Ayers past as a radical anti-war activist and the GOPs smear campaign in 2008 of linking Obama to Ayers past, KMJ and the tea party created a huge stir and encouraged people to shut the event down. They got the original venue to back out, when an alternate venue was found the organizers of the event started receiving death threats. Due to this the brown berets were called in to do security and were met by this unruly mob. As you can see the berets did not back down and will never back down to any racist hate groups.

10. Co-Sponsors for Ayers Event
Although Peace Fresno took credit for the Ayers Event on the local Channel 30 broadcast, they were not involved. The Fresno Center for Nonviolence was in fact a cosponsor. You can see the statement here showing where the funding and support came from:

http://www.ciafront.com/events/bill-ayers-comes-to-fresno/bill-ayers-event/

To answer a question regarding why the organizers allowed Tea Party protesters on the premises:

ciafront.com believes in Free Speech and the right of every American to express their views through peaceful demonstrations. The Tea Party participants were outspoken, but well within their rights. Those who came inside the Church for the screening were perfect ladies and gentlemen. Yes, they held up their signs inside and one of them even danced around which amused everyone- see photo of director of ciafront.com with Bill Ayers posing with sign:

Their presence was an asset rather than a liability.

We welcome friendly opposition. It's what makes America Great.

Friendly opposition does NOT include Tea Party and KMJ listeners phoning up the switchboard at CSUF attempting to get the CineCulture program canceled with hollow threats to withdraw funding from the University. Most people who called CSUF to complain were not in fact donors. Friendly opposition does NOT include attempting to force others out of venues where they exercise their Free Speech Rights. In fact, that's downright UNAMERICAN and smacks of the kind of milieu control one would encounter in a COMMUNIST COUNTRY RUN BY A DICTATOR or an oppressive TALIBAN REGIME.

So, whereas we support the Tea Party's RIGHT to demonstrate at our events, we do not support any kind of attempt to quash our own free speech. As you see, we did not attempt to quash THEIR Free Speech. We don't listen to KMJ because it offends us, but we support their right to air offensive material. We don't support any activities designed to shut anyone in America up because their politics are deemed "offensive".

9. Shun Sannity
They were applauding Shun Sannity figuring any words from one of Fux noise's lead babbling bobble heads was bound to be complimentary. They didn't have to hear the words, and as a previous poster has stated it's unlikely many knew who McVeigh was.
