Why haven't the progressives picked this video up and run with it??? This video proves that the tea party movement is fraudalent. I think the guy speaking is a nut but, actually, he's about the most intelligent tea bagger I've ever heard. And the whole crowd turns on him and cuts off his mic because he criticizes Sarah Palin! Watch!

They still get to vote, and their votes are still counted. They just lost. That's not at all the same as being disenfranchised.

58. I disagree. They're mostly if not completely the "crazies" of the republican party.
Edited on Sat Apr-17-10 05:54 PM by MUAD_DIB
The "crazies" are the people that the GOP tried to keep in check for many years but lost out to.

When George Herbert Walker Bush was president you had idiots like Wally George and Morton Downey, Jr. fanning the flames of hate rhetoric and catering to the crazies.

Now that is the norm of the party.

So, my friend, they're not disenfranchised. They're just the sad result of normalizing ugly prejudice and animosity.

This is the GOP voter of today.

5. They did not seem to have a problem with him encouraging people to pick up guns...
The guy was straight up advocating that they take "extreme measures" and literally start shooting people, he was advocating armed revolution and they were perfectly fine with it. It was not until he told people not to vote for Sarah Palin that they got mad, that is what makes this video so eye opening. The guy absolutely should have been shouted down, but he should have been shouted down much earlier than he was.

56. The MSM has upped the wing nut noise....
in response to the success of HCR to the point where it is deafening.

But wait a minute.....

How many Teabaggers are there? Enough to win an election? No. Enough to split the GOP vote? Yes

How many of the Teabaggers are functional enough people to even vote? Based on their signs, I'm guessing a lot of them never have. And as David Frum said about GOP support of the Tea Party, rattling up directionless anger leads to a passivity. Hope is what gets people moving (see election 2008).

How many of the majority of Americans who happily voted for our Black, son-of-immigrant President are now taking seriously a movement of racist kooks mindlessly repeating a few slogans they clearly don't understand?

I may be too optimistic, but I don't think Americans are a dumb as the Right thinks we are.

our side comes out in numbers similar to the 2008 presidential election. Their side will show up in those numbers and some people that voted for Obama are frustrated and have switched to Republican or Teabagger. Of course there are those tradition GOP voters that are turned off by the Teabaggers.

And we know, where they can, the GOP has thrown away ballots, disenfranchised voters and even changed votes. You know they will be at all their traditional tricks with some new and unexpected ones in an attempt to regain power.

65. I'm not convinced their side will show up....
in huge numbers. We're hearing a lot of noise about the Teabaggers, but not seeing a lot of people. And then there is the idiot contingent, and the "I don't vote cuz they're all crooks" contingent. Both groups are part of the already small Teabaggers population, and are not much of a threat.

I hope our side has enough sense to come out in numbers in the fall. In that regard the Teabaggers may actually be helping, scaring those sensible voters who might have stayed home.

As for election tampering, surely at least some progress has been made in that area/

Man, these brainless sheeple don't want to hear that. They want to hear how bad President Obama is. They want to hear how he's "taking away our liberty". They want to hear how his administration is bringing "socialism" to our shores.

These are f*cking idiots, for the most part. Just let them live in their fantasyland...and they will be content.

The repukkke party is dying...quickly, if it is going to tie a rope to half-term palin's horse. They will sink like a rock..and they had better get their head out of their ass and figure it out fast...or we'll end up with the Democratic Party turning just as corrupt and ass-backward as the repukkke party has become.

17. Which just proves that tea partiers are republicans too stupid to see through Sarah Palin even
Now that is dim. She gets paid to speak or she wouldn't even show up and is always wrong on everything she says but these closed minded goobers refuse to acknowledge the Palin reality. They are Paliens.

If these dim witted ignorant idiots think anarchy is patriotism or the nation would not turn into gang warfare everywhere rather than revolution while the ultra wealthy turn the nation into a plutocratic corporatocracy run like the military and they all (especially the elderly) would be the first to go then they have zero insight and are just stupid pawns being used so the wealthy greedy never have to pay taxes again. Chaos and disorder were well demonstrated by watching the Sunni and Shias devastate each other as America played Custer's last stand until they were smart enough to start "paying" the army they had just fired after the invasion.

"I'm not stupid...not like everybody says. I'm smart...I can do things"

Low level intelligence wanting recognition are the most easily manipulated...and you want them to carry guns?...and call for "desperate actions" from egos who think they know what's best for the rest of us? What part of stupid did you flunk?...must have been the "Id" part.

18. Put them all in an enclosed football stadium like their boy Pinochet did
Here's a radical idea, as long as they seem to like radical ideas:

Put them all in an enclosed football stadium.

Give them all assault rifles. Anyone left alive 5 hours later may leave the stadium, after giving back his or her assault rifle.
They like to settle arguments with bullets? Fine. We don't. So let them settle their internal arguments with bullets, and when
they're done with that, anyone still alive can come back out and carry their misspelled signs and shout themselves hoarse again.

I actually dont think he was advocating armed revolution. it sounds like he was just making the point that in the past with other "movements" the people had some sort of extreme action that they were willing to take, on top of protesting and sign holding. its a valid point, although he makes it rather undiplomatically. i really think these tea baggers should rally behind this guy, at least he can speak half way intelligently and he has a sense of humore it looks like. And he called one of the tea bagging rednecks an "old senile fart". thats awesome.

54. That speaker was obnoxious, smarmy, ignorant, and...
probably the smartest member of that whole crowd. No wonder they didn't like him. Oh well, dude. Now you see what you're legions of devoted fans are really like. Welcome to the world of people too sane for the tea party.

64. What a bunch of Kool-Aid drinking airheads.
I betcha they support Palin more for her looks than merit. Sorta like how teenage girls like Twilight because of Robert Pattinson's looks.

69. "Suppose a new president takes office and lowers taxes.." You mean, like the current president did?
This guy made more sense than usual. But they are still united in their ignorance.

76. What's scary about this....
Is that they didn't start booing until he started dissing Sarah Palin. They didn't boo at all when he was talking about violence.

77. Yes but
I'm actually giving him the benefit of the doubt here. I think his point was a bit more nuanced than that. I don't actually think he was advocating violence. He was just trying to draw a parrallel.

82. Bottom line: Nobody can differ in the slightest. This is the heart of authoritarianism
And it's why, sooner or later, all far right wing movements (and for that matter all extreme movements period), tear themselves apart.
