Excellent! Mitt Romney joins Giuliani in pointing a finger at Michael Moore. New Hampshire native Michell Griffin does not appreciate it. Red Arrow Diner serves Mitt Romney. More news, at your service at http://www.michaelmoore.com.

5. We need to extend MEDICARE to everyone --
Romney's obnoxious!!!

Yeah, we can't trust a people's government . . .

but we can trust private corporations to provide health care -- !!!!

8. I found his attitude very controlling and condescending, not just a politician
Edited on Mon Aug-06-07 01:46 AM by Hissyspit
being a politician, but arrogantly authoritarian. He struck me as the kind of guy who would shove his dog onto the roof of the car for a long family trip. Oh, wait...

10. That woman was great
The politicians should be required to actually stand up in front of real people like this and answer real questions with come-backs. She didn't take any spin from him and kept on going.
I hope she didn't lose her job for this.

13. "despite what Michael Moore says"
and then just flat-out denys the very real problems with the US's health system. Typical of a certain type of American, never fails to wave the "#1" flag, regardless of the facts.

14. Also
Can someone please explain to me how subsidising private insurance firms can possibly be more wasteful than governmental healthcare? It's starting to look like the R's don't care how much it costs or how wasteful it is, so long as they can say it's not a government program.

16. I love that - Why give "FREE" healthcare to this country's citizens...
when you can help them PAY for private insurance. We certainly wouldn't want the insurance and pharma companies to cry broke or anything. I'm sick of the rhetoric that we don't want government paid health care since we don't want the government telling us what to do, yet private insurance is the bloody golden ticket.

Sure am glad Mitt brags about his $10 copay.

18. What are the facts in MA?
I notices he said he had a program where everyone COULD have health insurance. Well, we already have a system where everyone COULD have health insurance. That's not the problem. The problem is the 45,000,000 who don't have health insurance and the out-of-control costs for the 200,000,000 who do.

Later he said they offered a subsidy for families under $45K income. A subsidy is not the same thing as making insurance available to them.

Does anybody know who MA families are still without health insurance?

This article says the plan was only expecting to cover 95% of the population, and that would be in 3 years. This Romney guy is sleazy.

21. It's corporate welfare. The public government shouldn't be subsidizing private corporate interests
When he talks of subsidies, he's talking about giving money to for-profit corporations who care most about bottom lines instead of health for the people. This is not how government should be run. Corporations should pay to clean up their own messes instead of making everybody else pay for their problems.

20. France is ranked number 1. The US ranks 37th. Cuba is ranked 39th in health care.
This is according to the last list of rankings released by the World Health Organization.

The fact that Cuba ranks so close to the US even though their economy has suffered from 50 years of economic embargoes is an indictment of the state of American health care.
