That Mark Burnette would produce this new "reality" series makes me now wonder how good of friends he is with his fellow countryman Mr. Murdoch.
Its using all the power of television to rebrand Palin as just a down home all American goody two shoes mum who just happens to be running for office in the future. Hitting all the right notes of God, Guns, and Country that will play great in rural America.
I am guessing they won't be having on any casualties from her political career. Burnette will make sure there are no turkeys in the background.
I wonder if a national network would have allowed a 6 part reality series about the life of Obama, how he grew up and beat the odds etc.. done completely one-sided, leaving out anything controversial. And run this fluff piece during the time many were speculating he may run for President.
Its her only way to win, and I am personally afraid it may work. I know because I am a reality TV junky to some degree. I know how you can get invested in personalities and depending on how the producers/editors decide to shape a character by leaving out some shots and including others, you can feel empathy for some and feel you know them. But this knowing is all based on being shaped into a character either good or bad by the shows producers. The power of TV is astounding. I fear this is a way to mold Sarah's image into some kind of small town saint, who has a sense of humour and whos family is, gosh darn it, just like my family.
