I have nothing against Kos, but I have long been confused as to just how it became the most influential liberal website. Who, what, where, when, why, and how did the politicians and pundits come to agree that Daily Kos was the liberal website with the most clout?
Granted, Kos took the initiative to start this conference and that's commendable. But speaking as a liberal who for 12+ years has spent hours every day surfing political sites on the web, my own impression of Daily Kos is that it's an "okay" website, but -- unlike some others -- I could easily do without it. IMHO, it is less dynamic and less informative than MANY other liberal websites -- including this one. And yet it soars above all others in hits and in the opinion of the punditocracy.
Anybody know what prompted Kos's relatively sudden success?
