These guys are unreal; the poor in this country are primarily single and only work about 16 hours a week? :wtf:

1. What a jackass

"People are only poor because they have 8th grade educations and are unmarried."

Why don't these people ever look at the reality of things?

Sick bastards.

I grew up poor as my single parent, who was single after leaving an abusive Christian marriage, worked more than 40 hours a week to get by. She has an IQ well above 160 and was unfortunately forced out of college by her husband. She was to be a house wife.

I'm going to make a new reality show where I take conservative Republicans and force them to live in the hood at a minimum wage job, with no financial support and two kids to raise. Let's see how they do.

2. Yes, it seems as if they don't live in the real world, doesn't it. And
welcome to DU! :hi:

3. Thanks
Yeah, and you could tell that the host was upset with David Sirota, since he pretty much won that debate and made them all look like greedy "elitist" assholes.

pwned

Fox is actually more of a propaganda network than it was before.

11. Well
I grew up poor, and both my parents were there- one a VietNam vet and college educated. This was done during the wonderful economic policies of Reagan :sarcasm: I know exactly how you feel, and couldn't stomach 3 minutes of that video.

4. Yes, corporate tax breaks create jobs.....
in India, China, The Philippines, Mexico etc. etc. etc. We give American companies tax breaks and they use that money to outsource American jobs all over the planet.

Those "economists" are so full of shit. Of course that's the CONservative way. Pull yourself up by your boot straps and all that.... :eyes: That's after they've had their own boot straps given to them, pulled up and tied through corporate welfare, inheritance and raping the American public. Everyone else is on their own.

Fuck wits! :grr:

5. You can't pull yourself up by your own bootstraps if
poor health has laid you low. You can't pull yourself up by your own bootstraps if you can't afford decent food. You can't pull yourself up by your own bootstrap if you don't have any boots. You can't get an education if you can't afford to pay $200.00 per credit hour.
The Corporate elite greedily accept Corporate welfare granted to them at working taxpayer's expense. In exchange, are they required to use any portion of their income to hire US workers? Are they held accountable even to ensure that their workers are paid a living wage?
Take back your economic power- Don't feed your Corporate masters. Grow local, Buy local, Hire local. American workers will thank you.
You can't fight Corporate America, you can only starve it.

6. I was just talking to a friend who is mentally ill and
trying to live on $800 per month of which $200 pays the rent. These guys should get out more and meet the many needy people who don't have the choice of getting a job. What a greedy bunch. Makes me ill.

He nails it!

Thanks, lady, for giving David the last word. He showed all those people to look like the elitist jerks they are.

8. A quote from the dumbass ex-wwf wrestler Layfield ( not his real name by the way)
Q. Some people study for years to get their doctorates in economics. What makes you qualified to give financial advice?

A. I taught myself. I've read or skimmed probably 100 books. Oh, and I watch a lot of financial programs on TV.

13. Couple of things
First his name is John Layfield, the Bradshaw part comes from his original gimmick as a beer-swilling brawler type.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Layfield

And second. Sadly, "Ex" doesn't mean he went away. He stills spouts this RW drivel as the colour commentator for the Friday show, Smackdown. Hell, the reason I started watching WWE again (bit of an on/off viewer since 1991) was as an escape from this nonsense

10. It's called "Pulling Yourself Up by Your Bootstraps" because...
it's impossible!!!!

Anyone who uses that phrase hasn't thought about it anymore than they think about all the sweat and blood they and the rest of us are standing on.

It's a great analogy and whoever came up with the phrase should be commended. Because if someone believes they can "pull themselves up by their own bootstraps", they're fucking idiots.
