Vote for The Young Turks (Once Each Day) on the Audience Choice Voting Poll at www.vote.streamys.org/ (3/22/10 through 4/11/10)!

Summary: Cenk plays and breaks down a clip of Newt Gingrich arguing that Dems are ultimately responsible for the increasing tea party threats and vandalism. You can http://blogs.ajc.com/political-insider-jim-galloway/2010/03/25/newt-gingrich-democrats-bear-some-reponsibility-for-threats-anger-over-health-care/|read about it here>. Then Cenk plays an insane voicemail from a teabagger.

1. I wonder how many of those old geezers BEAT THEIR WIVES?
You know, the rallying cry of the type of man who beats women, "SHE MADE ME SO MAD!"

It's just never THEIR FAULT, is it?

11. As many others have noted......................
this is the CLASSIC abuser excuse, blame the victim. Having had a couple of experiences with women involved with this type of mindset, my advice is to stand up to them. They're the ultimate bullies and bullies need to be faced down. And if they won't back down when faced down, SMACK THEM DOWN! I'll volunteer for smackdown duty in a heartbeat.

13. Nobody ever hit me more than once
because after that once, I was out the door, once with only what I had on and a couple of dollars in my pocket. I didn't care. I was GONE.

No one has the right to hit you unless you are on fire and they're trying to put out the flames. That applies equally to men and to women.

9. AAaaaand SCORE! Newt sets another record in hypocrisy!
Edited on Mon Mar-29-10 06:45 AM by JHB
Remember how Newt blamed the Democrats for Susan Smith drowning her kids?
Remember when Newt blamed "Welfare values" for a deranged couple that killed a pregnant woman to steal her not-yet-born baby?

(footnotes: being molested by her "Pat Robertson for President" and Christian Coalition organizer stepdad was probably a bigger influence on Susan Smith, and the only one on welfare in the second case was the victim)

Now, the guy who rose to prominence on evoking contempt and revulsion from your base about your the opposition, without regard to facts (and encouraging fellow Republicans to do likewise), the guy who criticized Ronald Reagan for "going soft" on the Soviets, the guy who embraced the "barbarians storming the gates" image of the republican victory in '94 that made him Speaker, and in general one of the indisputable leaders in the rise of extreme partisanship in Washington, NOW he's blaming the Democrats because the Republicans are still following his playbook?

:spray::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Yes!
Why didn't they mention that this is the guy who sent out the GOPAC memo entitled "Language: A Key Mechanism of Control." Por exemplo:

In fact, the new speaker of the House--who once described his goal as "reshaping the entire nation through the news media" (New York Times, 12/14/94)--has given a great deal of thought to the media and how to manipulate them. One Newtonian axiom is "fights make news" (Boston Globe, 11/20/94). Another skill he has taught to Republican candidates through his political organization, GOPAC, is how to create a "shield issue" to deflect criticism....

From this article:

http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=1276

Here's part of the actual memo:

Contrasting Words

Often we search hard for words to help us define our opponents. Sometimes we are hesitant to use contrast. Remember that creating a difference helps you. These are powerful words that can create a clear and easily understood contrast. Apply these to the opponent, their record, proposals and their party.

decay... failure (fail)... collapse(ing)... deeper... crisis... urgent(cy)... destructive... destroy... sick... pathetic... lie... liberal... they/them... unionized bureaucracy... "compassion" is not enough... betray... consequences... limit(s)... shallow... traitors... sensationalists...

endanger... coercion... hypocrisy... radical... threaten... devour... waste... corruption... incompetent... permissive attitudes... destructive... impose... self-serving... greed... ideological... insecure... anti-(issue): flag, family, child, jobs... pessimistic... excuses... intolerant...

stagnation... welfare... corrupt... selfish... insensitive... status quo... mandate(s)... taxes... spend(ing)... shame... disgrace... punish (poor...)... bizarre... cynicism... cheat... steal... abuse of power... machine... bosses... obsolete... criminal rights... red tape... patronage

See...it's all the Dems fault. They MADE little Newty do it! (because the GOP was losing so badly... like now.... this was 1994-5)

BTW... OKC bombing....1995

He fits right in to the right wing mafia. They have people killed all the time. The Repukes are the thug party. To make matters worse they're the party of bigots.

17. Actually Newt
is the worst Republican out there. He is at the Rove/Cheney level of evil. He remains above the fray but he is as bad as they come.
