I'm glad he did that, but I wish he found a stronger word than "irresponsible" to repeat. How about UnAmerican?

30. Ryan's a self-serving tool.
... the only reason he did that is because he's likely to face a primary challenge from some of the far-nutters running around central Wisconsin (I grew up there)& wants to marginalize them while 'strengthening his base' and gaining some future stature within what's left of the GOP.

Paul Ryan, an utter jerk-off, is from southeastern Wisconsin, not central Wisconsin. Central Wisconsin has the flacid Republican slug Thomas Petri to deal with.

Unfortunately the Republicans will not renounce them - the teabaggers are their base. It would be like renouncing Rush Limbaugh. They would be groveling before them the next day.

Those teabaggers proved that Americans can be very ugly. Some people never change no matter how the times change.

20. The person was arrested
Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) issued a statement late Saturday saying that he was spit upon while walking to the Capitol to cast a vote, leading the Capitol Police to usher him into the building out of concern for his safety. Police detained the individual, who was then released because Cleaver declined to press charges.

"The congressman was walking into the Capitol to vote, when one protester spat on him. The congressman would like to thank the U.S. Capitol Police officer who quickly escorted the other Members and him into the Capitol, and defused the tense situation with professionalism and care," said Danny Rotert, a spokesman for Cleaver.

11. Oh there will be some kind of "apology"...
But it'll be watered down and white washed..(ha-ha). Only a few will comment, they'll probably be hand picked.

Then they'll find an incident that a "librul" was involved in (that only they thought was "wrong") and point out that both sides
have undesirables. The they'll go on to say that IF this happened of course they don't condone it, but you cannot judge the whole
movement by a few radicals. They'll say the tea baggers are made up of Dems, Indies, and Repubs, and it's just average Americans that are upset. They'll completely ignore the fact that every protest (whine fest) that's taken place have all had racial undertones, and in your face racism as well as homophobia. That will be their version of an apology. And they'll act like we should consider ourselves lucky to get that.

Somehow they'll try and make themselves the victims.

36. don't hold your breath
but thanks for the attempt Congressman Ryan. These people are encouraged to do so by their own reps. Remember Joe Wilson calling Obama a liar during his health care speech on TV for pete sakes! So what if he apologized the damage was done. He humiliated the president and his family for a political moment in the sun. Republican supporters hailed it as speaking truth to power. The neocons don't really care about protocol when they're not in power.

39. If the Dems don't...
...shove this Brown Shirt behavior in the faces of every damn BlueDog, or others, that are trying to 'extort' the Administration and the Party over their vote on Health Care Reform, then they're just as inept as we've been saying they are. How anybody can 'side' with the Repugs and their Corporate benefactors in the face of this kind of extremism, not to mention the 'chum-flavored' interview that Faux did with President Obama last week, is beyond me. Fact is, if they still won't 'come around' then to hell with 'em. I don't know if a 'real' Democrat can win elections in states like Arkansas, Louisiana or Nebraska, et. al., but I'm not sure I care anymore. I'm sitting here in a 'lost cause' of a State that will likely never, ever, see the light of humanity again - Georgia - but it won't keep me from lettin' 'em know what they have become.

Face it, all this bunch of 'teabaggers' needs to make the picture complete are brown-shirted uniforms...and maybe a spokesman with a funny mustache.

43. The GOP is full of wild-eyed lunatics who are gleeful about the teabaggers
and their behavior. If they haven't denounced it by now, they have no intention to. They see it working in their favor and that's all that seems to count to them. Calling upon their better nature to uphold any sort of dignity or respect for the House of Representatives is appropriate but these GOPers have no dignity or respect. They have only self-interest.

44. here's what pisses me off about this speech
turn the tables. If a group of people did this to their side you'd hear them say: "The Democrats are supporting this type of attack on our values. If they do not denounce it shows they too would spit on returning war vets (or whatever) that they too hate the very people who are trying to help keep us safe. By their silence, the Democrats are are telling the world "spit on us! Spit on our soldiers! Attack us and kill our children in their beds while they sleep. We will not defend ourselves against you." The Democrats, they would say, are killing American children while they sleep in their beds by their silence.

We say: The republicans should say they think it is not nice to spit on black people or call them nigger.

Of course, we we sounded like republicans the media would eat us alive but when the GOP says it, the media agree and say "yeah, why are the democrats condemning this? The Democrats really do want this lawless mob to murder your children in their beds."

45. Tea Party
Edited on Sun Mar-21-10 12:12 PM by 1American
The Tea Party claims to be not connected to any political party, yet FOX NEWS give them support and ample coverage...not the bad stuff, just the anti-Obama reactionaries.

IF YOU CANNOT SEE SARAH PALIN'S HAND IN ALL OF THIS, YOU ARE EITHER TOTALLY BLIND OR SO FAR-RIGHT TWISTED THAT NO TRUTH WILL PENETRATE YOUR CEMENTED BRAIN.

The other demented party behind the violent racists in the tea party is Glen Beck. I see him as the closest thing to something like the nazis of pre-war Germany and Joseph McCarthy who accused without any consideration for truth.

NO, the Tea Party does NOT represent Americans----Just the far fringe mentally deranged people who are either alcoholics or spaced out on drugs.

49. WHERE ARE ALL THE DEMOCRATS????
In all this people have been missing one key point. In all this Teabaggers ( the name fits them by the way) rallies and marches WHERE ARE ALL THE DEMOCRATS that marched in HUGE numbers (not made up ones like the right uses) but ACTUALLY 100's of thousands to get Obama elected? Where are the counter marches, where are the supporters of this health care issues whether you totally agree or not with the actual bill WHERE ARE YOU now that you helped get Obama elected WHERE?. Is Obama on his own now that he's president?

To me the cowardly Democrats that are now laying low are no better then the Teabaggers. WHERE ARE YOU?? I'm nowhere near DC or I'd go but there certainly are enough in the area to counter these protests and show there is another side and the AMERICAN people the repukes like to think they represent are ACTUALLY made up of A LOT of Democrats and indies that tend to vote more liberal that we too have a voice and WE WANT HEALTH CARE REFORM and the majority the REpukes speak of is a majority of REPUBLICANS NOT AMERICANS!!..

WHERE ARE YOU DEMOCRATS??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is why when Election day comes around, because of these Tea Party Nazi's taking over the Republicans I can say that the Republicans will not regain control of the Congress as a matter of fact they will lose 50 seats in the House and the Re3publicans will lose 10 senate seats and control of another 10 states. and as The census comes in and state houses redo the congressional lines back to a fair way like before the 90s The Democratic Party will have 2/3 Control of both houses and a Huge majority of the states, and that is when we will get real stuff done regarding Human Rights, Health Care and Social and Financial Justice.
