He reps northwest NJ, which is the reddest part of the state (polar opposite of northeast NJ, which is very close to NYC). His district went overwhelmingly for McCain, something in the neighborhood of 65-35 if I recall. He's been called the most conservative member of Congress, according to some ratings system. He will be in Congress until he decides to retire or not run for re-election.

I'm hoping that once Christie's cuts start to be felt by everyone who isn't making $400,000/year or more, the tide will turn and maybe Sussex county will finally "get it". During election season, it's annoying as hell to see all the republican lawn signs no matter where I go.

In fact, "Old Man Eloquent" died 2 days after collapsing there while giving a speech against the war with Mexico!

He was loved more for being a Rep than US President. . . his funeral attended by many Southerners as well.
