Speaker Pelosi,

the Queen of Zingers!

Though I can never forget that you kept "impeachment off the table,"

. . .your zingers today will almost make me forgive you. . .

-two great zingers at Boehner's abortion coverage misinformation and Cantor's fear mongering to seniors on losing coverage in Democratic bills.

-also, she set in the public record that it's insurance corporations who shamefully reject a public option because they couldn't withstand the competition.

I was really disgusted that Weiner and Sanders were excluded from the summit. . .but now I see, Speaker Pelosi had her arrows ready to zing. . .

Wonderful, Madame Speaker. . .with my heartfelt gratitude!

1. Obama would not be in office if Bush had been impeached.

3. We can disagree about that. If impeachment had proceeded, the resulting publicity
may have "flushed out" enough other criminals that there would have been criminal prosecutions of others in the administration or their Congressional stooges. That could have resulted in another half dozen senators and 15 or so representatives on our side of the aisle.

Of course, I suspect some of those "stooges" had D's after their names.

Whatever the result, we either enforce the law or we don't. So far, we don't when it comes to Republican presidents---Nixon, Reagan, Daddy Bush and W.

2. I was watching it live !
I loved when she got 'em.

But I would have liked for Wasserman-Shultz, Sanders, Weiner, AND drum roll . . . Alan Grayson to have been there! :pals:

Hmmmm - I suspect they didn't want ALL of the ;-) loud mouths in the room at once and they would have heard it if any single one was able to go and the other three weren't. Though - there were a few times from the Democratic side today that I think those four were feeding people words.

4. She was elegantly awesome.
And, yes, either Sanders or Weiner would have been preferable to Baucus.

13. Boehner looks like a scolded dog.
ALL THE TIME!

I love it when he looks so serious while solemnly intoning complete dribble.

6. Nancy Pelosi handled that beautifully.
I must say that I observed in that situation and have observed for many years that, so often, when an intelligent, articulate woman starts to speak, men begin to look impatient and angry. I saw that reaction in the faces of the Republicans at that table -- even some on our side. I will not mention any names.

It has often been said that the Tea-Baggers' opposition to the Obama administration is at least in part motivated by racism.

I have to say that a lot of the opposition to Pelosi's ideas and her person are motivated by sexism.

I saw that in the faces of some of the men at that table when Pelosi started to speak. Some on our side need to be aware of their own reactions -- of their own sexism.

That is very troubling.

Tough Shitskies!..They'll just have to get used to it.

We're not going to apologize for being alive in the world doing things OTHER than smiling and "serving" them in one way or another!

10. Word
I thought the same thing watching how everyone reacted when she was speaking- sliding chairs back and starting to mentally inch out of the room like a bunch of 9th graders 2 minutes before the bell rings. Unbelievable -
the dems do need to know how they look too - it wasn't just the repubs

14. Because they have really creative ideas -- that are better than Obama's.
And, Sanders and Wiener along with Grayson are more articulate and more persuasive than even Obama.

No offense to Obama. He is very articulate and very persuasive.

It's just that Sanders, Wiener and Grayson are the very, very, very, very best.

11. Nancy runs the House...
...a heck of a lot better than Reid runs the Senate. He should take a lesson in management from her.

12. For the FIRST TIME EVER I am impressed with Nancy Pelosi. That was a display of leadership
and spine that should invigorate every Democrat in the House AND Senate and allow them to stand up to the Republican liars and obstructionists.

Thank you, Speaker Pelosi.
