At CPAC 2010, Max Blumenthal is confronted by ACORN videographer Hannah Giles, the deranged Andrew Breitbart, and a mob of conservative crazies, including one really manic guy who won't stop using the word, "rubric".

1. Amazing composure
It's so telling to watch these people rant on him and throw question after question in between insults and accusations and then start yelling "Answer the question!" when he starts to talk.

We are such a divided nation. I am disgusted by these people who call themselves conservatives.

3. So true. I have a man crush
This really was an amazing display of how somebody who is intelligent and knows the facts can handle a seething mob. There was some serious pwnage here!!! I love the way that I heard statement after statement completely shot down by just a little bit of knowledge. You can take almost any statement made in this video and it would be fodder for hours of conversation at a Tea Party convention, as they repeat the disinformation spewed by the Rush's, Beck's and Levin's of the media. When they are said to somebody intelligent, all that crap gets shot down in just a few words. Breitbart is amazing!

2. Minstrel show
The minstrel show, or minstrelsy, was an American entertainment consisting of comic skits, variety acts, dancing, and music, performed by white people in blackface or, especially after the Civil War, black people in blackface.

Giles is an idiot. Max had to fight to maintain composure after that brilliant answer.

4. Am I the only one who thinks that she was joking?
Edited on Mon Feb-22-10 11:02 PM by TheEuclideanOne
Regardless of my disagreeing with her on the whole acorn thing, I think that she was cracking a joke here and I think that he recognized it too, based on his reaction and that they were both laughing, trying to lighten the moment up a bit.

8. Max Blumenthal is such a badass
I dont know how he maintained his composure that whole time. I would have been riddled with anxiety. Its a really weird scene, with all the people crowding around him and filming him and hes just sort of chilling answering questions at his own leisure. That first dude is such a trip and if I understand him correctly he seems to be pulling the whole "white people are discriminated against and should be able to set up their own caucus" routine. Love how he basically just brushed the dude off.

11. I have to tip my hat to Max. I can do that too.... but not for long!!!
I generally start to laugh and ask them silly questions. He managed to keep his intellectual integrity. I can't do that.

I have to learn to do better. It is best for my cause. But they bring out the little brat in me. Eventually. :smoke:

12. Max Blumenthal is my hero
He kinda was before this but now definitely. He destroyed these rubes with intellect and facts. Reminded me of Obama vs. the House Republicans a little. One guy with intelligence vs. a room full of dopes.

14. Hannah Giles seems like a person who could someday get
a clue. She seems like there is a real human being inside who might someday get away from her conservatard friends - a brightness that neither Breitbart nor O'Keefe have.

17. I never realized how limited these right-wing leaders are in their
personal development. Except for Hannah, each of these "conservatives" became utterly inarticulate once they were angry. (And they seem to have severe anger management issues.)

Instead of enjoying discussing ideas, they quickly become very impatient, seemingly frustrated with their inability to say express what they feel in an effective way.

They don't seem able to listen to the the person with whom they are talking, can't even give the other person the time to answer a questions. They begin gesticulating as if about to become violent before the other person has said anything.

This suggests to me that there is some problem in their emotional development in early childhood that interferes with the development of their language ability.

We all become angry in certain situations. But these "conservatives" became outraged while attending a meeting of conservatives, surrounded by like-minded people. That should be a calming environment for them.

They are not very articulate. That suggests to me that they do not think very clearly.

We think in words. If we do not learn to think well, we cannot speak or write well. The definition of inarticulate is being unable to express oneself well in words. The cause of inarticulate speech in my opinion is unclear thought.

William F. Buckley was rather slow and labored in his thinking, but he was not as inarticulate as these guys. Eventually, Buckley found the well-worn phrase that he had stored to express his thought. In other words, Buckley was a good student however limited his ability to think through to the ultimate consequence of his theories may have been. But these modern-day conservatives think quickly but chaotically. That's dangerous -- but not very effective.

This kind of muddled thinking caused the biggest problems during the Bush administration.

20. Max is tougher than I would have been
Edited on Wed Feb-24-10 02:16 PM by motorcityliberal
After hearing that douche ask me every insane question his little gum drop he called a brain can muster up I would probably sink to his level and engage into mindless name calling. How can anyone with common sense compare the Black Caucus to KKK? One is trying to improve conditions for a minority group via legislation and the other want to eliminate minority groups.

And Breitbart I would kick his ass, hey I can handle one one one when it's just me and the right wing ass hat but when I'm surrounded by the extras from "28 Weeks Later" and it's a tag team I can honestly say things wouldn't turn out so well for Mr. Beritbart, let's just say Mr.Beritbart would be walking away with a bloody nose.

If anything you got anything from this video you should get the conservative movement in this country have become a safe house for racists, crazies, dickheads and other socially regressive misfits.
