Lawrence Mishel, President of the Economic Policy Institute OBLITERATES the arguments of conservative Univ of Chicago finance prof. John Cochrane on the stimulus. Cochrane's answer to the crisis and need for stimulus? "get out of the way" basically DO NOTHING and the market will take care of itself and create jobs. Apparently he hasn't got the memo that jobs were being lost at an alarming rate because of the policies he promoted, and Ayn Rand and the libertarian bend of greenspan have been discredited by the recent crisis. He stubbornly and stupidly proposes that more of these same elite policies will solve the problem. Mishel sets him strait in an embarrassing drubbing of facts and analysis that show the necessity of a stimulus in a recession and it's positive effects and the total bankruptcy of the conservative/libertarian point of view. Even Jeffery Brown is astonished at Cochrane's idiocy.
