Outside of Sarah "Caribou Barbie" Palin, Joe "The Fake" Plumber was McCain's biggest misstep (among a very long list), which proved once and for all that he was an unserious candidate who'd grab at *anything* for a few seconds of media interest. Wurzelbacher (sp?) was an unmitigated disaster and caused the few thinking people still attracted to McCain's campaign to desert in droves.

I guess Fux 'n' Friends think they can just make this shit up and no one will notice how completely phony they are (and certainly among their no-opposable-thumb viewership, such tactics work), but they don't control how history gets written any more, and haven't for years.
