Not that she will win, but here's why I say that.
We already know the far right media are going to prop her up no matter what, but even other media are going to because making the race between her and Obama a barn burner is going to sell papers, increase ratings, etc. So we can expect even lower expectations and a greater wave of praise than what Bush got during his debates with Gore IF she doesn't totally embarrass herself. Saying that, the media are going to have to try and cast Obama as an Al Gore know-it-all and will have problems with it since he is charismatic in ways Gore could only dream of being. So taking all that in, I honestly believe the media outlets - to different degrees (subtly, overtly) depending on where they lie on the political spectrum - will frame it as, here's the nasty, old know-it-all (Black) man being mean to this cute-as-a-button, common-sense-having (White) woman.
During the last election, fortunately, Palin was such a train wreck that the media had no choice but to point out (sometimes) just how stupid she is. Also, the vast majority of Americans, including the all-important independents, didn't have to be told she was an idiot and were able to look past the efforts from the press to prop her up. And I think toward the end, a lot of the press realized no matter what they did, they ultimately couldn't help her and just let Palin bury herself. Let's hope it happens again.
