19. That was the scariest thing she said. Make no mistake, "conservatives" are hell-bent

on getting their way. They are leading us into a civil war again but this one based exclusively on ideology.I worry about it because they ignore the overwhelming evidence that the "conservative" ideas pushed into policy and law over the last 40 years have destroyed so much of what made the United States prosperous and free (as in freedom).Their eyes are glazed over when it comes to discussing the full range of ideas. Palin is the perfect poster-child for them.

If the conservatives get back into power, I don't see how they could improve anything. They are all about tax cuts for the rich, no regard for the general welfare of people, and use intimidation as their only means of defense (because facts just don't work in their favor). The American liberal must come to accept that we cannot get through to these people with sound reasoning and indisputable evidence. No, the American conservative will not learn anything until it all falls apart for each and every one of them on a very personal basis. The good news is that they are well on their way to learning that lesson, the bad news is that it takes all of us down at the same time.

I'm with one the previous posters who said they're moving elsewhere or going off the grid if the conservatives come back into power. My problem is that my life is completely dependent upon the system. Throw me into the forest with nothing but the clothes on my back and I'll die of starvation in the middle of the garden. I suspect there are a lot like me. I'd love to learn, but who's teaching the old ways anymore.
