Obviously McCain is only doing this because he knows full well that Glass-Steagal WILL NOT be restored. If McCain was not an advocate of a 'laissez-faire' system he would not have had Phil Gramm as his chief campaign adviser. He is doing this purely as a jab at Obama.

Unlike Cenk I do not feel McCain is deserving of praise. And it is rare that I don't agree with Cenk. Now, his position regarding President Obama and Summers, I agree with wholeheartedly. This one act, restoring Glass Steagal, would correct these abuses that caused the economic meltdown.

But it ain't happening. To quote someone on the health care reform issue: "The votes aren't there." What an understatement!

These politicians are as bought and paid for on financial services reform as they are on health care, probably more so.
