1. I'm sorry, but...

First off, I think it's horrible to vote on the rights of people, but I also think questions like this are poorly phrased when you have to vote "No" to protect something. How many people are confused by these questions and vote the opposite of how they meant to?

Regardless, people should have no say in how I or anyone else lives their lives as long as it's between consenting adults.

2. The fucked up thing about this deal is the law is already in force................

.................to protect the rights of individuals and this "vote" is to take that right away. I don't want to seem crude here, but I come from a lower class upbringing/background, working class throughout my life and when I talk to people I know or associate with I put it in a perspective I believe THEY can understand. I ALWAYS tell them that just because gays can get married or have rights that won't all of a sudden make you go out and have gay sex. A lot just can't grasp the fact that if you ARE NOT gay you are not going to suddenly start to crave gay sex. I put it a little more crudely, but you get the picture.

3. In this case, it is probably good...

When people are confused by ballot language, they often vote "no" believing it to be the "safe" choice.

4. This is one of the reasons ballot questions drive me crazy..

it is worded so that you have to vote No to show support for the law as it is now. Maybe, it's just me but as I drove around Maine a couple of weeks ago and saw all the yes signs, I thought that meant to keep the law as it is. It wasn't until I looked closely at a neighbors sign and saw the family picture portrayed as a man, woman, and children that I realized you had to vote No to keep the law.
