Sort of a counterpoint to Dennis Kucinich, which I found odd.

1. I love listening to Dean
on this..thank you. He thinks it's "Real Reform" and is "Very Pleased" with the "Good Start"..and is adamant about getting "enrollment before 2010 elections."

14. For those of you who don't get the lipstick on a pig reference...
It wasn't about Dean, it was about the pig of a bill he is trying to fool us into thinking is something it isn't

4. That's a tasteless and rude statement.
He is being honest about what he thinks about the bills. He sees them in a practical way, where most of us see them in more progressive terms.

I disagree with him on some parts of it, but he has been a major player in getting us this far along.

6. Howard was always more about "what CAN we do?" than "what would we like to do?"
Dennis Kucinich is the conscience we should have and Howard is the pragmatist who knows how many things
on our wish list we have a shot at getting. I have no problem with our ideals always being higher than our
realistic possibilities. It's always good to have something better to shoot for. Saying things are perfectly
fine when they're not is the other party's way of doing things. They'll never be perfectly fine for everyone,
so we'll ALWAYS have out work cut out for us. Howard recognizes this, always has.

12. What is this guy talking about??
He said " these are very very good bills", and they " are really going to make a difference".

GIVE ME A BREAK.

This bill is a step backwards.

Any good this bill could do, is undone by the mandate.

The weak benefits of this bill are not worth the horrible idea of mandating private insurance on people.

We need healthcare reform and we get an insurance mandate?

the country will be worse off if this bill passes as is.

I am contacting my congressmen and telling them to vote no unless there is a STRONG public option that everyone can opt-in if they want to.

Without that, this bill is just a political play for votes.

13. I think Grayson was saying that this is the right start and if the congress gets more progressive...
Edited on Fri Oct-30-09 06:31 AM by ProgressOnTheMove
they can open up the option to more people. It's a matter of getting the foot in the door now while we can. So by the time it rolls around we can of kicked out the co-ops and expanded it to everyone. It's probably the whole purpose of 2013 a work in progress. They always keep saying it will take time to implement, implement the removal of corporate congress members.
