3. Except that's NOT what they're saying,
and in no way does Superfreakonomics agree with Inhofe or any of the other deniers - they are asking (and answering) a fundamentally different question.

4. True.
However, they are crazier than hell by suggesting that geoengineering would fix it. It might help solve that problem some, but the law of unintended consequences would kick in.

The problem is how much SO2 do you shoot into the atmosphere and from where? Can you get it to spread out like you want to?

The Earth's natural systems are chaotic enough. There is absolutely no way to tell what other problems their idea would cause. Minor changes can wreak havoc. If that's the very last hope, I would hang on to my hat when it would be tried.
