2. If you haven't seen the Iran edition of Globe Trekker, it is worth seeing.

It dispels a lot of the mystery and political back and forth that we see on TV.

TV news not accurate.... who would have thought.

It's one of the best episodes from that series, especially with the whirlwind of events during the last year.

OK, I almost said something political and I want to stay clear of that in this post.

If you get a chance, it is 100% worth watching.

<3 rick steves. he's perhaps the most talented travel writer. His books are like bibles to me. His new book is awesome, his TV show is awesome, and even his rap song is awesome. If your ever traveling in Europe, I recommend it highly.

Since he ended with Khomeini you might find this interesting as well... his opposition to what was taking place, speech and subsequent exile helped him become better know throughout Iran.

10. I believe RS's whole series in Iran is available on Hulu.

I saw one show on PBS and it was great. Certainly opened my eyes. I was amazed at the pictures of the cities and of the citizens of Iran. Made me even more upset at our public view of Iran. Most of us have no idea. It is not tents and camels. The people are amazing and most do not hate us....yet.
