2. I force myself to look at the pictures and watch the videos reflecting war's human toll.

I've been aware of the US and Israel's use of depleted uranium and white phosphorus for a long time. These images, along with the clips of soldiers laughing about rape and murder and taunting children, leave me feeling that there is no hope for humanity. I try to remind myself that there are many people who oppose these actions and fight them with every fiber of their being.

I want to thank them, as well as express my deepest, heart-felt remorse for the horrible violence and des ruction our country has perpetrated on so many of the peoples of the world.

Your signature line says it well. It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

The world reflects who we are as a collection of individuals. The first thing you can do is NOT give up before you even begin to challenge the status quo. Conventionally held beliefs rule the world by providing both explicit and implicit support for our 'leaders' to carry out the actions of government and foreign policy (read: war profiteering). As Krishnamurti stated, if were are to bring about a total, radical revolution in our own consciousness, we then automatically affect the consciousness of those who we encounter throughout our life.

The worst thing we can do is hide these stories and images from the public. We need to see the 'cost' of war so that we can rethink war. We can see how damaging, and indeed preposterous, the conventional wisdom of "We're protecting our freedoms." and "We're fighting for Democracy." really are. It is this type of mindset that allows these actions to continue.

If the dominant view of Americans toward war became the one expressed in this video, the war would stop immediately. The problem lies within each of us individually.

3. Why they hate us

Well, gee, this is going to lay waste to the meme that they hate us for our freedoms, isn't it?

Every jingoistic war supporter and "can we finish the job this time" types should be strapped in to a chair with their eyelids held open with fish hooks and be forced to watch this movie.

Well, that may be a bit over the top, but if you love war so much, you should spend some time enjoying the consequences of your wars.

As Phil Donahue said last Wednesday at a Lecture at NWCC in Winsted Connecticut, AMERICA HAS BECOME A WARRIOR NATION.

Everybody in America that pays taxes underwrites everything seen in this film. Own it all, America!
