Billions of dollars are being stolen from Medicare each year. Steve Kroft spoke to one man who got caught and explained how he managed to bilk the system.

2. The government is too cheap

to pay for enough fraud investigators. but apparently they're not too cheap when it comes to paying out billions in false claims to Wall Street companies.

I mean, right as we are pushing for a government run option - like MEDICARE - that they do this story NOW? Come on 60 minutes! If you are gonna do a story about fraud in medicare - how bout making your next story about the huge fraud and war profiteering that has been going on in Iraq for YEARS! Argh. :mad: I miss Dan Rather.

5. What? You mean how Steve Kroff asked it gov't is CAPABLE of running such a system?

I picked up on that right from the start but the fact is that we HAVE NO CLUE as to what the fraud rates are of private providers.

Let's not forget also that the prior administration was COMPLETELY ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL for 8 years.
