Those teens who've been indoctrinated by their parents, churches and schools can still become quite comfortably uninformed and proud of it. That is the explanation for the despicably Republican American south.

She'd be thrilled if ONE of her students had as much comprehension regarding politics as this young lady does. I won't show her this - she's disheartened enough as it is.

11. So, money = freedom and more money = more freedom, the logical consequences of these "facts" are

SLAVERY.

Since more money = more freedom and less money = less freedom, you are inherently obligated to get as much money as you can. Since there is a finite amount of money and since each and everyone of us is inherently driven to get all of the money we can in order to be as free as possible, each and every one of us is also under the threat of losing money to everyone else and, therefore, with the exception of the person(s) who have the most money, and who can therefore acquire more money more effectively than those with less money, all of the rest of us are progressively more and more enslaved as we lose money/freedom to those who are acquiring it. Therefore, to acquire more and more money is to desire to enslave others.

I'll bet this guy who talked to this girl's school also claimed to be a good "Christian".

I'm as poor now as I've ever been.....and I feel freer now than I have for years.

I would also point out that progressive taxation and money spent equalizing the playing field means that the society is free and equal.

14. This is at the heart of the difference between liberal freedom and conservative freedom.

For conservatives the concept of freedom (like most concepts) is fairly simple: freedom to do what I want.

For most liberals it is a bit more complex: in this case paying taxes means the freedom to keep your house from burning down, or to keep from getting mugged when going outside at night, or the freedom to have safe roads to drive on.

When conservatives hear about mileage restrictions for cars they hear "I don't have the freedom to drive my Hummer." Liberals hear: the freedom to have cleaner air, the freedom to not be dependent on countries that hate us which allow us to have the freedom to not fight wars based on the need to keep our supply of foreign oil open.

The reality is that the concept of freedom is not a simple concept. There are many countervailing forces and ideals at work and it never leads to a simple answer.
