3. Meh. It's not so much about fiction as about reality

The issue is _framing_. It isn't that Obama has to create a foil. The foil already exists, in spades. The Whitehouse has changed the conversation, though, which is what is important. Now, instead of arguing about just how communist Obama is, the press is arguing about just how far in the GOP tank Faux is. That's the brilliance of it. Attacking to get the heat off of himself/his administration (ie creating shiny objects that not only will the idiot press run after but that also help him politically) is the name of the game, and this is a good move.
