Transcript:

MCCAIN: Well, you’ve got to hand it to our law enforcement and homeland security people that they’ve been finding out about these plots, several of them before they’ve been able to act. I think we ought to give them some credit. And maybe we might give George Bush a little credit for the fact that we’ve not had another attack on the United States since 9/11. We blame him for everything else. Hahahaha

IMUS: Somebody told me, somebody told me off the record — well, they didn’t tell me off the record. They just, I just couldn’t use their name, but they said — we’re talking about why there’d been no second attack — and they said they thought President Obama was the second attack.

MCCAIN: Hehe.

IMUS: That was an idiotic thing to say

3. Radio station in Tucson
The repug station I sometimes listen to in the morning here is not to kind to good ole McCain. Just about every caller says they will not vote for him next time around. I think his support is more in the Phoenix area.

4. What accounts for Imus's professional longevity?
I never heard Imus before his creepy morning show on MSNBC, though I'd heard _OF_ him (mostly via jabs from Steve Dahl or Howard Stern). Then I see he's this burned out, weird old turd in a cowboy hat with a chin strap (like either his hat or his head was trying to get away) mumbling and grunting to himself and not doing much in the way of hosting a "show."

6. Fraternities and beer
And things like that promoting stupidity as a lifestyle. He combines blatant sucking up to the powerful to secure sponsors, and enough subtle racism and misogyny to provide a means for like thinkers to identify each other. But he runs a nice camp and makes good salsa. It's just so hard to be all bad.

7. As McCain ages his ability to disguise his weasel core is fading
McCain is the same greedy narcissistic weasel he has been his whole life. Even the Reagans caught on to him, so that shows how stupid the press was to miss it. He will say anything that he thinks elevates him with the audience at hand. A good story has always been more alluring to the press than straight facts. John has been lucky.

How many members of the bottom 1% of their class get to be pilots? And after wrecking two planes get to remain pilots?

So when he lucked out by crashing into a pond in Hanoi instead of dying when he incompetently lost his third plane, he was lumped in with a lot of brave and heroic men, and trading on their heroism, made a name for himself.

Then he got to trade the wife who stood by him for a younger and wealthier one. How perfect that it too was inherited wealth.

When he helped his neighbor loot the retirement funds of hundreds of old folks at Lincoln financial, he was so close to the chief thief that there were no formal records to catch him with, but even congress knew he had to be reprimanded.

The years have taken their toll, and the recent campaign put his intellect and judgement on display. He picked Sarah, but really liked Joe, who are really a lot more alike that a cursory view reveals. He thrashed about wildly looking for another lucky event to once more, elevate him far above his merit. But his wit has slowed, and there never was any substance to fall back on.

By the time he's done with his next campaign, is he is so imprudent as to stand again, there will be no doubt in anybody's mind what a hollow man he has always been.

10. Imus, schmimus...
He has become a caricature of his previous self. What a buffoon. Does PHAUX really put him on the air yet?

Hard to comprehend the shallowness of that outfit.

11. the whole thing was just plain bad entertainment - guess he's unfunny by nature

and 'repeating something someone told me' is the oldest excuse in the book for attacks on other people. Imus is showing his old-old-old school ignorance.
