1. Ugh. Check your tits?
:puke: The one I still embrace or the one I lost?

2. Sorry
Didn't mean to offend you. All the women who helped me shoot this loved the idea, as did my wife and every other women I've discussed it with. Just trying to reach people through a little humor.

5. I love the video and don't mind the word 'tits', although I like boobs better

Thanks for posting.

I just had a mammogram last week and the radiologist viewing my x-rays wrote me saying there's a problem. I'm to go for more test on the 14th.

Fingers crossed.

Triva: The Grand Tetons were named by a French trapper who thought that they resembled the female mammaries. (Ergo tétons, the French word for "nipples" or "teats".)

4. Boobs
Interestingly, my wife always insists on "boobs" as well, but she thought "tits" worked better in this. It gets people attention -- which is the whole idea.

12. Breast Cancer in Men
Men can develop breast cancer too. About 440 men die in the US ever year from breast cancer, so while it might not be as much fun as REAL boobs, take a check of your own from time to time. You never know. . .

10. This is not "humor." It's insulting.
Yet another attempt to promote "breast cancer awareness" by letting every man's inner 12-year-old boy fly.

Listen to this:

1. I don't like being told every October that it's important for me to save my tits, tatas, boobies, girls, or even BREASTS. What about ME? Not my body parts? I'm a PERSON, not just a pair of TITS.

2. One fact this video gets right: Breast cancer is only the SECOND most common cancer killer of women. The most common? Lung cancer. Yet there's no Lung Cancer Awareness Month. No guys in pretty T-shirts telling women to "Check what's under your tits."

3. The statistics given in the video are misleading. Breast cancer survival rates depend not nearly as much on early detection as on the pathology of the cancer itself. Aggressive cancers always have lower five-year survival rates (and by that, they mean the number of ALL women still alive after five years, not the percentage of women who live for five years after diagnosis and then die). Less aggressive cancers are more survivable. Early detection matters to the extent that it makes it more likely to find smaller cancers before they metastasize, but amazingly enough, some tumors that get quite big aren't as threatening as some tiny ones that are more aggressive. Early detection is NOT the whole story.

4. Mammograms are an imperfect tool for detection, for many reasons I won't go into. The key point I want to make here is that telling women to get mammograms "early and often" is just plain irresponsible. Every time you get a mammogram you radiate your breasts again, which puts them more at risk. It's ironic that the best way we have to detect breast cancer now is one that irradiates the flesh. You shouldn't be getting even annual mammograms before 40 unless you have a family history of breast cancer, medical experts say. "Early and often" sounds like women should be rushing to get a mammogram every few months from age 18.

5. Enough with the pink already, OK? Breast cancer isn't pretty and pink. It's an ugly killer.

Sorry, Britehorn, if you feel insulted by my rejection of this "contribution" to Breast Cancer Awareness Month and that I am an "ungrateful wretch" for not liking it. But if you really want to make a video that helps women, you'll help defuse the many myths surrounding breast cancer, rather than urging women to "check your tits" with mammograms. That would be a much better use of your time and efforts, and it would be attention-getting in a positive way. If your efforts to help are sincere, maybe you'll consider it? Thanks.

11. The Pinkies
Brand new at this....Thanks Berry Cool for stating some facts.

Another multi-million dollar industry....MAMMOGRAMS....makes no sense, unless your a misogynist... 90% of all lumps are found by women....flattening and irradiating an already found lump in a breast is paramount to giving a cigarette to a lung cancer victim.

The Pinkies are all about the money....selling mammograms, wigs and breasts is their idea of fighting breast cancer...–how many women developed a raging case of breast or thyroid cancer from mammograms–as radiation is a known carcinogen. Guess they forgot to mention the risk to healthy breasts.

I was told by the breast clinic at Vanderbilt that a mammogram was like walking in sunlight...upon closer scrutiny I discovered they lied...2 different types of radiation....mammograms are ionizing (real bad) radiation...sunlight non-ionizing (less bad). Pretty pathetic when Vanderbilt Breast Clinic or the Pink Ribbon Group can't get the radiation stats right.

The superficiality of the Pink Ribbon Group (and all their pharmaceutical/chemical company ties)and unaccountability for their profit driven propaganda...makes me sick...hope a house falls on them.

Support the efforts of the BREAST CANCER FUND....great group that are truly fighting breast cancer...
