2. The only difference between this and a "normal" weekend in Oakland

was the heavily armed police presence. Seriously, you have this many students walking around Pitt on a normal weekend during the school year. No students were in masks, no students were rioting, they just seemed curious as to what was going on in the streets.

It was like watching some futuristic movie with cyborg cops. Chilling.

Students were attacked in their own student union.

It seems that riot gear is a vaild excuse for bullying and harming innocent people.

I feel sick.

ON EDIT: I wonder, do our soldiers in a war zone get body armor as good as these "public servants" do when they are facing non-violent, unarmed, not-even-protesting students?

There has been a serious escalation on the part of the "establishment" forces.
That is some scary stuff.
As the economy crumbles and the next generation is deprived of even the illusion of Upward Mobility, the "Ownership Society" will continue to escalate suppression to Protect the System. Democrats...Republicans....it almost doesn't matter anymore.

There will be a push back.
There will be martyrs.

Aren't any of these Middle Class troopers worried that they may be harming their own children, friends, and neighbors to protect the handful of people in the Ownership Class?
