The Hill's A.B. Stoddard answers viewer questions about whether things would be any different or any better Senator John McCain had won the election, and considers the issue: are their enough doctors to treat new patients under healthcare reform?

2. I'll listen to the clip, but ...
... whatever the current number of doctors and other health care professionals, their numbers will adjust to the demand. If more people have health insurance, we'll need more; if health reform doesn't pass and costs continue skyrocketing, there won't be as much work in the industry simply because people can't afford it.

The issue of "not enough doctors" is short-sighted fear-mongering against reform.

3. We could just H1B visa them into here.
Problem solved.

These will be jobs that Americans just won't want to do, like low paid crop picking.

:sarcasm:

There are fucking plenty of doctors and more graduating every year along with tens of thousands of qualified skilled Doctors all though out Europe who would love to practice in the US...What kind of bullshit question is that?

"Is there enough doctors"?

So they are admitting the problem of the masses of uninsured people in this country is real and exist overwhelmingly and is growing every day!!

5. The problem isn't the number of doctors, its that only 25% go into
primary care.

In Canada 50% of the doctors are primary care physicians.

6. The argument is sick

That would mean that there aren't enough now and an admission that only those with the most money can get access.

But I guess you can't let the rabble into the country club.
