Charles Darwin film 'too controversial for religious America'

A British film about Charles Darwin has failed to find a US distributor because his theory of evolution is too controversial for American audiences, according to its producer.

2. umm sounds like some sort of marketing ploy......
seems unlikely that could actually be true...what with all the nasty filth that does get shown to kids every day in local cineplex.

6. Not the point.
You can show as much violence as you like in the cinema, and movies can be absolute crap. But controversy is controversy and some distributers are right wing fundie scum.

3. If Im not mistaken it's 2009; not 1909
Let the religious right whine and scream like they always do; we have to put a lid on them.

4. Just Watch...
They'll attack anyone who buys tickets and crazily yell:

"GOD EXISTS!"

5. i have been waiting for this film to come out. I like the main actor a lot
and to be honest, I think that we don't have enough movies like this that are both entertaining but challenge people to think.

7. Controversy sells tickets.
It's hard to believe that their isn't any America distributor eager to take advantage of that fact. I don't see it as very likely at all that any protests or attempts at boycotts would outweigh the boost this film would get from the publicity.
