6. Oh, fuck yeah, man! I just watched that not 15 minutes ago!
I also was so impressed I left him a private message, which I'll share here:

I know you're a busy guy, but I had to take a moment if I may:
Your recent political videos have been some of the best content I've ever watched on YouTube. Your scathing attacks against brain-dead neo-cons are right up there with Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, as well as Jon Stewart, Mr. Colbert and Mike Malloy who was formerly of Air America radio but now broadcasts self-syndicated. If you have never checked out his show, you can stream it live by going to iheartradio.com and opening up the player. From there, choose the Talk format on the left and California on the right. From 9 PM to Midnight EST he can be heard on KTLK AM in Los Angeles, which should be the 2nd or 3rd choice down in that menu once you've made the choices I mentioned in the drop-downs.

I especially bring up Mike Malloy because he combines acerbic wit with raw, seething anger at "teh stoopid" in much the same way you do. These points brought up by yourself and the aforementioned media personalities are things that Americans *need* to hear and *need* to understand just what sort of peril our little social experiment with a Democratic Republic is in.

I'm glad you're back -- albeit with language-censored videos -- and would really like to see you continue polishing your style and delivery, because I think you could make it very nicely in the small (but steadily growing in spite of corporate fascist attempts to quash it), true "Liberal Media".

You don't know me much, but under this same user name I have stopped in and made comments during a couple of your Blog TV shows. I once made the comment that in many ways you could be my much younger brother. What the hell, I'm 40 and my oldest brother is 58! It makes this Gen-X'er very proud to see someone like yourself coming up and speaking truth to power and ignorance as you're doing. Please keep up the good work, and for the love of Dog stay safe down there in redneck territory!

Yours with my sincerest wishes for a bright, content and rewarding future,

Kirk T. (aka progrocker69)

P.S. -- Tell (your fiance) I said hello. She really does remind me of my wife. =D

8. Warning: This guy is a bad messenger, yes he is an atheist but more an entertainer
Edited on Sat Sep-12-09 09:54 PM by Aslanspal
He has had a right wing guy Fakesagan expose his penis online on blogtv and he knew it and young people under 12 were on blog tv and it was all a big laugh to them....Warning!!! this guy is the wrong messenger the opposition would tear him apart with research...his past is all for many to see...throw bricks at me but trying to make way for the right messenger.

Bottom Line this guy is an entertainer trying to make a buck.

11. Oh for fuck's sake!
Even if that incident is true as you describe it, it's not as if TAA was in any way liable for the actions of another during his show. Of COURSE there are many younger people (and many total idiots) who spend time in TAA's room during his shows. It's the nature of the beast.

Sorry, but in light of all the great video's he's done, what you're talking about is no reason to completely discredit him. The guy is good at what he does, but he's not rich either. He barely scrounged up the money for a decent vehicle and lives in a shithole studio apartment. If he were truly out for the almighty dollar, this would not be the case.

14. I agree with you to some degree, it is about the Freepers finding leverage
The Right wing opposistion doing research might not find out by first impression but if they dig on this guy they would use saturation propaganda and then he is toast. I stand on what I said, i do not hate the guy but just not the right messenger. Their are consequences to your actions and past...he is young , he needs to go to college and get some edges off and know how to play in the big leagues and I disagree with you, he is making money off of celebrity and has found that Ann Coulter methodology how to inflame and then rake in some money.

Hey throw bricks at me and I am only just one person and he does have a following but if TJ was to be on Larry King with Glenn Beck across from him or a Michael Savage they would have the goods on him and he would on they and it would be a break even. Which goes back to my salient point , wrong messenger, some good message but wrong guy.

One opinion but it may be the one that counts.

15. Well, I also agree with you that he needs more education and polish.
If you read the post above where I reprinted my private message to TJ, you'll see that I say as much.

But also in the vein of that Private Message to TJ, I highly doubt Colbert, Stewart, Maddow, Olbermann and Malloy have sparkling clean pasts either.

The Right-Wing, corporate fascist mainstream media already uses every trick in the book to try and discredit voices of reason through outright lies, slander and ridiculous assertions. They'll do the same to TJ, if the time ever comes, regardless of some minor scandal on Blog TV. Do you seriously think any 12 year old out there hasn't seen a penis? I doubt very much that anybody was scarred for life by this "incident" you describe. Further, if it were that serious, it would be in direct violation of Blog TV's TOS and he'd likely have been toast by now.

Lastly, I should point out that TJ will be making an appearance on a long show on Blog TV being done by the leader of Doctors Without Borders. TJ is making a very honest and sincere effort to try and raise money not for himself, but for a very worthwhile charity which is currently spending vast amounts of time attempting to help uninsured and impoverished Americans. If he can somehow convert his efforts into a boost of some kind in his personal income, what's wrong with that? Do you also begrudge Michael Moore his royalties from his films? Or how about the aforementioned other media personalities and the salaries they earn for doing their shows?

Sorry, but basing your arguments against TJ on one simple incident, when he's a human being who has a right to be compensated as an entertainer and who is far from independently wealthy for pursuing this path, is just not right.

20. And he's talking about blowing teabaggers up.
That makes him different from Glenn Beck, how? The right wanting to kill Michael Moore or the left wanting to kill conservative protesters... seriously, I don't see the difference. It's certainly not any more attractive behavior by us than them. imho.

36. Look, Glenn Beck is a big baby.
Edited on Sun Sep-13-09 12:45 PM by intheflow
We all know it. He would probably never actually do the killing himself, I honestly don't think he's man enough. He's happy to incite others to violence though. The thing that makes Beck dangerous is the wide platform given to him from which to spew his hate. He's high profile, that's what makes Beck different. I think both men are using hyperbole. I mean, Olbermann manages to rage against the machine very effectively without ranting about how he wants to physically harm someone. It's not beyond belief to think this dude's random rant on YouTube could plant a seed that could lead to violence on from the left. Even Beck had to start his "journalism" career somewhere.

Of course, the teabaggers' own actions could do incite some nut to action, but I'm just sayin'... both the left and right have nuts and radicals and extremists and people who are mentally unstable. It does neither side any good to give fuel to their fires.

10. nicely done . . .
He is a little rough around the edges and I wish he hadn't made the comment about the grenade (we don't need more violence talk) but his facts were spot on perfect. I troubles me that many of the people that I know that proport themselves to be Christian are angry and downright hateful at any one who supports Obama and health care reform. My Bible tells me that the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galations 5:22-23)I don't see any of those things being exhibited by people who shout and name call and say they don't want to pay for someone else's healthcare. They are not showing love, compassion, kindness and certainly not self control. I am so frustrated with people that are so narrow minded and bigoted and yet call them selfs the "Christian" party of compassionate conservatives. (Someone on Facebook even told me I wasn't a Christian because I supported Obama!) I will continue to use the principals that my scripture teaches me in loving one another and exhibiting self control but my goodness, it is getting harder and harder to do so when these people are verbally assaulting me and others like me.

61. thank you for your spriritual words of encouragement . . .
I saw a board that was bashing Obama and healthcare reform, you know the same old dribble about us "godless communists". Someone posted the following without any other words and I think it sums it up quite well. It is all about compassion for our neighbor.
Luke 10:25-37 (New International Version)

The Parable of the Good Samaritan
25On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
26"What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"

27He answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

28"You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."

29But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

30In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. 35The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'

36"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"

37The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him."
Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."

What I didn't care for was the grenade line- it almost made me turn him off but i'm glad it did not.

The guy makes some great points and I loved the finish,I wouldn't have added the grenade part but I can identify with the anger.
We just need to keep in mind that we can't defeat our enemies by becoming them.
We defeat them by rising above.

62. I think that is the point . . .
we DON'T want to be like them and propose violence to get our point across. I have seen more anger directed at me personally on Facebook by those who proport to be Christians than I care to admit. I don't beat anyone over the head, I don't resort to name calling or twist their words or anything of the things that they do. I try to be above that and just reasonable, rational arguements. I know it is hard but we have to show that we are different than them, that we are the party of compassion for our fellow man. I just keep thinking of what Jesus would do, as as much as these people do not want to admit it, Jesus would advocate taking care of our fellow human being. That is what the parable of the Good Samaritan is all about.
