1. It's official -
we have the COOLEST President and First Lady EVER!

I'm old enough to remember the JFK days - Pablo Casals at the White House, white tie dinners, elegant entertaining, the whole cultural world came to the White House. It was outstanding.

The Obamas are even better. That tango - and they were going to do it three different times! - was about the best thing I've ever seen at any White House function.

Did you see the faces of the diplomats? They didn't know how to react because it was impromptu, not scheduled. They're such creatures of protocol.

Here's hoping the Obamas loosened them up.

God, that was GREAT!!!

Thank you!!!!

5. Actually, There are many middle aged couple taking Tango Lessons as we speak.....
It is very good exercise, and also good for something for couples to do together.

When one adds up the cost of lessons, it is cheaper than going to a ball game,
and certainly better for a relationship than having the hubby sit up on a couch watching
football, while the Mrs. stirs things up in a pan.

To have one believe that Dancing the Tango or dancing anything else is supposed to be highbrow,
is only for those who like to stereotype each of us up in a box to fit their world view.

6. Tango is hot -
if you ever want to listen to some incredible music, check out Aston Piazzolla, specifically an album called "Tango: Zero Hour."

And, a variation, "Piazzolla: Soul of the Tango," by Yo-Yo Ma.

It's not like anything you've ever heard. It is glorious......................

9. I and my spouse would rather go to a ballgame. It's more fun.
If someone wants to take dancing lessons I don't have a problem with that.

I like to dance.

My comments had more to do with the "atmosphere" and surroundings at the "white tie" affair more than the tango.

I and my friends and co-workers just don't get invited to such "classy" affairs and I bet you don't either!

And we couldn't afford the expensive clothes and jewelry if we did get invited!

11. It's not how expensive your jewelry is that counts,
is how you carry yourself.

I could go with my Target outfit on, and no one will look their nose down at me...
cause I've got good manners, confidence and interesting conversation; that's really all anyone needs, you know.

Don't go to sporting events. They ain't for me.

8. That's Ballroom Tango
There's also Argentine Tango, which, IMHO, is way hotter.
