because he knew he (Hatch) was going to hell for all the wrong he did in his life. That Kennedy was like his chaplain in prison.

Orrin Hatch may consider himself in a similar position as a death row inmate: With Ted gone he can no longer repent in private to his priest.

10. I figure Hatch is a Mormon

Well without doing a search on him I believe he is. That so some of that Christian "help the poor, turn the other cheek, forgive sinners" etc. had to have sunk in on some level.

So after being a Republican senator for many years Hatch was seen himself and his kind do the functional work of the devil.

Hatch has been coerced into doing bad things by others. Business and other GOP'ers who've got the goods on him. And surely some of his evil biddings were done because he succumbed to temptation.

So on some level he realizes this. Maybe it is on the border of his subconscious. But he just has to know it and feel the anxiety from his past and current actions. You almost have to be some sort of devout or church going Christian to pick up this vibe.

But I'm not a perfect Christian. Never claimed to be. "Do unto others BEFORE they do unto you" I say.

So I hope Hatch's anxiety eats him alive the rest of his years.

She is a grieving widow with many many things to do. I think she might turn out to be an incredible interim appointment that would carry Teddy's mantra forward.

She knows what was in Ted's mind and knows his staff (one of the best ever on the Hill) well. She would have tremendous symbolic importance and could carry the torch forward in a credible and inspiring way.
But I certainly would understand if she would prefer not to.

14. I disagree

Someone on TV said that Vicki was more conservative than Teddy.
I can't find anything on the net regarding her views on anything, since she doesn't have a record in politics.

I think it is a bad idea, and she should stay home for awhile and adjust to Teddy's death.

Besides, If one of the Kennedy boys (Teddy Jr, Joseph, etc.) decides to run for Teddy's seat in the special election then it just wouldn't look right with Vicki being the seat holder in the interim.
