12. Lou Dobbs is just cruel. I'm a moderate. He has hooked me on several occasions.

On several different subjects. He starts off great making relevant points. That's how he get you on the hook. But he always goes too far and that just rips the hook out. So as former viewer I can honestly say that the Lou's overall intent is to damage his viewers by consistently setting the hook just to rip it out later. Now I simply refuse to take Lou's bait. As far as I'm concerned he's just a waste of CNN's air time. What Lou does is not sport but cruelty. If Lou did to real fish what he does to his viewers. He would be arrested for cruelty.

21. I used to watch Lou Dobbs

a long time ago and at the time, I found him mature and professional. He frequently went after the Bush administration and corporate America, but now I can see it was all just show to boost ratings. He seems to make it a point to be contentious just for the sake of being contentious. He has gotten ruder and more outrageous over the past few years and now I think he's losing it.

I never watch CNN anymore. Most of their newscasters and commentators are phony and annoying. Jack Cafferty is the only person worth anything, but I can't sit through Wolf just to see Jack.

CNN Finally Fires Lou Dobbs

It took him a long time, but CNN President Jon Klein finally got around to doing what he should have done a long time ago. In order to maintain the professed trademark of his network for objectivity in broadcasting, he realized he had no choice but to fire Lou Dobbs.

Of course, cautious as he is, Klein did not fire the anti-immigration crusader directly, or even alone. He threw Dobbs overboard as part of a vendetta against radio talk show hosts in general.

As first reported on the Website TVNewser.com, in a conference call on Aug. 11, Klein told his producers they should no longer book radio talk show hosts on CNN shows: not on “The Situation Room,” nor Larry King, Anderson Cooper, or Campbell Brown. From now on, said his edict, no radio talkers will appear on CNN. Period.

Why? Because, argued Klein, radio talk show hosts are incapable of understanding or commenting on the important issues of the day. “Complex issues require world-class reporting,” sniffed Klein. Not only that, TVNewser.com quotes Klein as complaining that radio hosts too often do nothing more than “contribute to the noise,” and their comments are “all too predictable.”

26. Rightwingers have started using this tactic, and they need to be called on it.

They're trying to get people to quote them verbatim and to the letter just in order to argue a point. If one word is slightly different than the inflammatory message that was actually delivered, then they try to act like they are innocent of all charges.

Someone needs to backhand them when they do that. It's deceptive, disingenuous, and they are metaphorically hiding behind their mother's skirts. Drag their asses out of there and make them take responsibility for WHAT THEY'RE CONVEYING, even if it's not exactly, verbatim what they're "saying".

It doesn't make any difference whatsoever that it's legal to openly carry a firearm in that state. It was still provocative, creepy, stupid, unnecessary, and should have triggered a response from the Secret Service.
