Downtown Seattle - Washington ACORN members from King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties (Some driving as far as 1.5hrs to the action) gathered for an action on Goldman Sachs' corporate office. Goldman Sachs owns Litton mortgage which does not participate in the Making Home Affordable program and has ignored ACORN members' requests to modify unaffordable mortgages. One of the members there, Maria, had been trying to communicate with Litton for 6months with no response until she received a sale notice the day before the action. Catching wind of the action, Goldman Sachs locked the elevators and stairways preventing members from getting to the 13th floor. ACORN members chanted "Predatory Lender, Criminal Offender", sang and passed out "WANTED" posters of Goldman CEO in the lobby. Then moving outside continuing the rally, Goldman-Sachs employees threw water on the protesters from the 13th floor offices. This was a great summary of the situation: Working families, left no other choice trying to negotiate with the lender who was taking their $, their home and tax money (Goldman Sachs got a total of $22Billion in Fed. Bailout $) while their lender refused to speak with them and instead sat up in their glass tower throwing water on the families. A sign of what these corporations think of the American people?
