Cited by Human Rights Watch for violating international human rights standards, Smithfield Packing has created an environment of intimidation, racial tension, and sometimes violence for workers who want a voice on the job.

1. I know you're going to think I'm an AH for saying this but

WHY THE HELL ARE THEY WORKING THERE?

Before you tell me I don't understand, or I'm being insensitive, let me tell you, I know all you said is the truth! I live just south of Gainesville, Ga. and the same damn thing happens at the poultry plants here. Let me also reference that that is the very reason unions came into existance many years ago! Remember, that business is concerned about 2 things...making money and staying in business! Of course they would ALL have to stick together, and enjoin any of their friends who might be looking for a job too. Then as a group, they go to management and say things are going to change or we aren't working here, and we won't let anyone else in to work here either! There's power in numbers folks, and it's damn about time to use it!
