I'm amazed at the number of young Republicans. They clearly have bought the bullshit, and/or are unable to read sufficiently to figure out what the party platforms actually say.

2. Gotta understand geeks and nerds here...

Many are very smart in their chosen profession...the libertarian call of personal capabilities denoting one's societal worth makes them feel empowered.

They are also somewhat socially backward when you get them outside of what they know.

Kind of sad really.
