3. Why do they sit so close together?

I know this comes across as a lame comment, but I have to say I've never even watched a clip from this show before, and the FIRST thing that struck me, and struck me very forcefully, was that these two people are right next to each other. They are touching, leaning against one another. I found that I had to keep resetting the clip to watch it, that I had lost all track of the conversation because all I could see was this man and this woman snuggled up next to each other in a way that *I* would have found extremely uncomfortable. There's something about "personal space" that matters to the way I perceive people. Two people this close together suggest something OTHER THAN honest and serious "reporting."

That said, I've always thought Scarborough was a dunce, totally unworthy of the airwaves he occupies. I couldn't even watch more than about 2 minutes of this clip. It was offensive in every way.

They are at some diner somewhere. I would imagine technical issues require that they are so close together. That said, they don't usually sit too far apart from each other, and they have come to figuratively lean on each other of late. Joe spouts off, and Mika agrees with him to lend him some "lefty cred".

Unfortunately, both of them have lost touch with reality. Joe doesn't know what conservatism is, but he's determined to define it for everyone else (hint: the conservative position on every issue happens to be Joe's position, even if it's more regulation...) Mika is just as bad now, believing that because she considers herself a liberal, her views must be liberal.

It's been a sad intellectual collapse of what was a somewhat enjoyable morning show as late as a year ago.

the system will be bankrupt simply because of the wastefulness and inefficiency of our "system" (which is really simply anarchy).

who said something very astute. This caller was for single payer and she said that her taxes would have to go up 65% in order to offset the cost of her health care insurance premiums.
