As someone said on CNN earlier, it's important that these videos from Iran get through so that the world knows what's happening. Otherwise it'd be like a tree falling in the forest with no-one around to hear it...

4. My thoughts, exactly. This footage is being broadcast on CNN International right now
They're saying it's from today, too.

2. The chant sounds like the cries of young Neda's
father -- "Don't be afraid, Neda! Don't be afraid!" not realizing that she was already dead.

6. Yesterday the crowds didn't seem as big
maybe some stayed home to avoid the violence. Today though, the people are standing back up.

7. To paraphrase Imam Khomeini at the onset of the hostage crisis in 1979 . . .
O, you brave people! You have chosen to rub America's the dictator's snout in the dust.

8. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
It means the same now as it did in 1966, 1967 and 1968.

9. Where was our outrage and passion in 2000?
That's when we lost it all.

10. Yes, if that kind of movement had happened ..
.. eight and a half years ago, we'd
be living in a different country.. and
world.

13. Well then damnit, keep this and other video's like it in your minds
for a time when we need to speak out here. And never, never, never forget Neda. She is a life lost who could have been someone important: a teacher, a mother, a doctor. She should be honored for her courage.

11. It was a subtle, small theft. Not someone getting thirty percent and claiming seventy.
Bush "won" because he cheated around the margins of error, and he gamed Gore into accepting a partial instead of a full recount, and he maneuvered the election to his pals on the Supreme Court.

We didn't vote. The Supreme Court did.

If Gore had won sixty five or seventy percent of the vote, we may well have seen the same objections, here. Unfortunately, though, the nation was divided and there was plenty of passion--only it cancelled itself out.

That's not the case in Iran. There's a clear trend away from the third place holder, Ahmadi, and Khameini is backing the wrong horse because he hates the guy who came in first and he feels his power and authority slipping--and he knows it would slip even more swiftly if he allows his enemy to take the role of President.

12. Those aren't protesters anymore. That's an army forming.
If I were Khameni(sp?). I think I'd be on a plane somewhere already.

19. are they marching merely because their election was stolen, or are they marching because they want
a truly wholesale change in the philosophy that governs their country? Like I wonder what the crowds would do if they saw people marching for abortion rights? I know there are some that truly know the feelings of these people - are they wanting progressive changes in Iran, or merely to get rid of the dictator for stealing their election, because, I've heard Mousavi (sp) still wants the same type of governing situation. Anyone care to elaborate?
