5. Exactly right.
Graham and Lieberman, what a flippin freek show! In it up to
their eyeballs. Graham was CLEARLY in it from the beginning
with Bushco as accessory and co-conspirator to war crimes
in several obvious ways... he went beyond his legislative immunity,
now is fighting for his own life.

Here Graham just highlights how personal this has become in attempting to
give cover to his own criminal culpability. He thought he
was invulnerable(true while he is in office), but now has doubt.

Graham must have thought he/they had the political power to get away with all of it,
that he had the Senate votes to block any accountability. It must have looked
overwhelmingly that way up to 2006 election, but by 2008 political winds
radically changed. Who could have thought the economy would melt down, that a
popular new democratic leader would emerge, that republicans would fall into
such disgusting disrepute.

The whole 8 years was driven by greed and looting, but was also a rather blatant
and transparent attempt to subvert the democratic processes of the US and establish
a perpetual ruling aristocracy. All was nothing less than treason against US, an
attempted coup. We know who the players were, they could hardly hide their parts. The
war crimes were entirely incidental, even incredibly stupid, an ill-advised means to a political
end, but incidental or not here it is at the forefront, the tip of the killing spear
and a window into the inky blackness of some men's souls.

Graham and Lieberman, eh? They display no light, only inky blackness for all to see.
Yet even NOW their calculation still holds. This is the true abomination.
We will see.

9. Lieberman is extremely emotional?
Weren't private contractors involved?

May 7th, 2004

Two private military contractors are being investigated for their role in torture allegations at the Abu Ghraib prison, Iraq: CACI from Arlington, Virginia, and Titan of San Diego, California. CACI supplied at least one interrogator while Titan supplied at least two translators named in a 53-page classified internal Army report written by Major General Antonio Taguba that have dominated news coverage all over the world. (download report here)

A total of four men -- Steven Stephanowicz, John Israel, Torin Nelson and Adel Nakhla -- are named in the report. All of them were assigned to work with the 205th Military Intelligence Brigade, a unit that is currently stationed in Germany and Italy in support of V Corps, under the command of Colonel Thomas Pappas.

On August 26, 2005, Randi Rhodes, a host for the Air America talk radio program, claimed that employees of CACI International had raped and murdered Iraqi civilians at the Abu Ghraib prison. CACI sued Air America and its parent company, Piquant LLC, for allegedly making "false and defamatory" charges. CACI sought $1M in compensatory damages and $10M in punitive damages. The claim was dismissed by a US District Court judge on September 21, 2006. <4> CACI is pursuing an appeal, having received permission to do so from a bankruptcy court (which lifted the automatic stay that resulted when Air America filed for bankruptcy protection).

Is the real goal to protect CACI? I didn't really know much about CACI until I read this.

Also, were other private contractors involved in the torture? If so, who, what country of incorporation and origin, who owned them, what were their connections in our government, in other governments, etc.? I am beginning to think that it is not the specific acts of torture that are being covered up but who was actually planning and executing the torture and to what countries, powerful people, causes, etc. those who were involved in the torture were from? Whom did they represent? Were they trying to get information that was not particularly of interest to the U.S. but to an ally of the U.S.? Say Saudi Arabia or Egypt or Israel or any one of a number of countries? I realize that I am thinking way, way out of the box and maybe too far for some, but I don't think it is the depictions of the torture that are being covered up. I think that Lieberman does not want to draw attention to the torture to protect other information of some sort. Just what, I do not know.

Sorry to offend if my ideas are just too wild and far-fetched.
